✨ So… what actually happens when you have a Reiki treatment? ✨

You lie down, get cosy, close your eyes… and essentially give your body permission to stop doing for a little while. 😌

But Reiki isn’t just about lying on a treatment bed looking peaceful (although that’s definitely a bonus!).

Reiki is a gentle form of energy work that works with the body’s natural energy system, with the intention of supporting relaxation, balance and wellbeing.

🌿 During a treatment you might experience:
✨ Deep relaxation or even falling asleep
✨ A feeling of warmth, coolness or tingling
✨ A sense of heaviness or lightness in the body
✨ Emotional release
✨ A busy mind becoming quieter
✨ Vivid colours, images or sensations
✨ Or… absolutely nothing noticeable!

And that last one is completely normal too. There is no “right” way to experience Reiki.

✨ The Beautiful History of Reiki ✨

Ever wondered where Reiki actually came from? 🌿

Let’s take a little journey back in time…

🇯🇵 Reiki was rediscovered in Japan in 1922 by a man named Mikao Usui, who devoted his life to understanding healing, spirituality, and personal growth.

Legend tells us that after spending 21 days meditating and fasting on Mount Kurama, Usui experienced a profound spiritual awakening. During this experience, he received the wisdom and understanding of Reiki – a gentle form of energy healing that supports the body’s natural ability to restore balance.

The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words:
✨ Rei = Universal or Spiritual Wisdom
✨ Ki = Life Force Energy (the energy that flows through every living thing)

Rather than “giving” you energy, a Reiki practitioner acts as a channel, allowing this universal life force energy to flow where it’s needed most. Many people experience deep relaxation, emotional release, mental clarity, or a wonderful sense of peace during a session.

Whether you’re simply curious or have experienced Reiki yourself, it’s amazing to think that this gentle practice has been bringing calm, comfort, and connection to people for generations.
