Last week, we celebrated the completion of our Band 5/6 Bespoke Leadership Programme, delivered in partnership with the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN).

Over three months, a fantastic group of nurses from across the system came together to take part in a three-day programme.

Jointly funded by The Worshipful Company of Fan Makers and Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust and facilitated by QICN, the programme provided participants with valuable opportunities to build confidence, develop leadership capability and expand their professional networks.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, as well as our facilitators and partners, for making the programme such a success. We look forward to seeing the positive impact these nursing leaders continue to make across our communities.

Thanks to the generosity of our Sussex Community NHS Charity supporters, a new virtual orthodontic clinic is helping children access specialist dental care more quickly while reducing unnecessary hospital visits.

The service enables clinicians to discuss complex cases virtually with specialist orthodontists. For many children and families, this means avoiding unnecessary travel and appointments while receiving faster access to the care they needed.

It's a great example of how charitable funding can make a real difference, helping NHS teams innovate and improve care for children and young people across Sussex.

Visit Sussex Community NHS Charity page to find out how you can get involved.

Today is International Paramedics Day.

We're celebrating our paramedics and highlighting new learning and development opportunities now available across the Trust.

Following discussions with South East Coast Ambulance Service, paramedics will benefit from access to CPD webinars, e-learning resources and future joint training opportunities designed to support professional growth and strengthen clinical skills.

George Murray, Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Paramedic said: ‘This partnership will help grow and develop new relationships and opportunities for staff. I hope it will enable access to a broader range of high-quality learning experiences, strengthen clinical skills and knowledge, and support ongoing professional development which crosses organisational boundaries.’
