Wowzers. The summer holidays seem to whizz by quicker and quicker.

I always dread the hols in July, then come September completely baffled to where the time has gone 🫣

Our wonderful 19 year old kindly welcomed us back home to maggots in the food bin, not once, but twice this summer. Thanks Cas 🫶

Now to start a whole lot of new starting tomorrow 😳 thankfully not long till the weekend 🤣

I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer. Countdown to Christmas now 🤣🤣🤣🤐🤭

Have you ever stood in a rock pool in that were absolutely the wrong footwear decision, navigating the last week of the long-anticipated summer holidays, and thought: here we are then, again.

Looking forward to routine again. Not looking forward to routine again. Both true.

Looking forward to the kids going back to clubs - hello, full sentence, possibly even a wee alone. Not looking forward to it either, because underneath the chaos you've quite liked having them around, even mid-meltdown, even trailing sand you'll be finding at Christmas.

Anticipating new beginnings. Excited for new beginnings. Also hoping the anticipation turns into something good and not the usual flat disappointment you can spot from a mile off.

And somewhere under all of it, quieter than the rest, another summer done. One more you'll never get back exactly like this. One summer closer to a version of them that doesn't need you in the rock pool at all, doesn't want you there, has their own plans, their own people, their own Birkenstocks making their own bad footwear choices without you.

So yes, you're counting down to routine. But you're also, secretly, holding on to this one a little tighter than you're letting on 💕

That's not you being complicated. That's just what the last week of the holidays does to you ✨️

Living with a long term health condition doesn’t necessarily mean you are able to do the things you can normally do all the time.

For Seren it means that in her worst episodes of pain, she is unable to walk for any amount of time.

If you know Seren, you will know that she has the absolute worst case of FOMO on this planet 😳

Thankfully she turned a corner on Wednesday and things should start to get a little easier soon 🤞🏻

Caring for a child with long term health conditions is bloody exhausting.

You are tired. You feel alone. And you just want them to be better. It's hearbreaking 💔

I don't tend to share so much about what we have to deal with as a family to just try and live a 'normal' life but I think it will be more of what I will share because - it's real life.

On good days you would never know that anything was wrong, in fact, we look like quite a happy and strong family from the outside looking in.

I mean we are, but we are also experiencing stress and anxiety at low levels. Not knowing when our daughter will need medical intervention {again}.

And I know we're not the only ones. So I want to send love to others who are also quietly suffering out there 💗

This is what emotional hangover looks like.

Exhausted.
Sleeping.
Hugs.
Family time.

Then you get cabin fever. So off we went on a predictable outing to 'big' Tesco, we even had to drive there 😆

Because when you have been in hospital, you can’t do normal everyday things. Being in hospital makes you humble.

So happy we were able just to get out for an hour 🙌

Then back to the safety of home 💗
