Meet Shadow 🐾
Shadow is a 9-year-old cat who underwent a femoral head and neck excision back in 2019.
What is that? 🦴
It’s a surgical procedure where the “ball” part of the hip joint is removed to eliminate painful bone-on-bone contact. Over time, the body forms a “false joint” made of soft tissue, allowing movement to become much more comfortable.
He first came to see us in 2024 after developing increasing lameness in that leg.
We introduced a tailored plan including gentle home exercises, massage, laser therapy, home adaptations, and worked closely with his vet on pain management.
Fast forward to now… Shadow is back to enjoying life as an outdoor cat and just pops in for maintenance sessions!
I’d love to say it’s the massages he enjoys most… but honestly, I think it’s being hand-fed chicken!
Well done, Shadow — keep up the amazing work! 💚
