Did you know? 🐾

The underwater treadmill can reduce weight bearing by up to 80%, taking pressure off your dog’s joints while still allowing them to move safely and confidently.

Hydrotherapy is perfect for dogs starting their rehab journey, recovering from injury or surgery, or simply needing a gentler way to exercise when they’re feeling sore.

Meet the super brave Phoebe 🐾💚

Phoebe has recently undergone a left hip replacement to treat hip dysplasia — a condition where the hip joint doesn’t sit properly in the socket, leading to wear and tear and early onset arthritis over time.

Just like in humans, physiotherapy plays a crucial role in recovery after surgery. In these early post-operative stages, our focus is on:
• Ensuring a safe home environment
• Monitoring for any post-op complications
• Tracking outcome measures such as muscle mass, range of motion (ROM), and weight-bearing
• Introducing gentle weight-bearing exercises

We’re so proud of Phoebe’s strength and resilience already 💪🐶

Keep following us to see her exercise progress and rehab journey 😍💚

What a lovely 5 star review from Shannon, proud owner of Bucky and Woody! 🌟

Bucky and Woody are a beautiful Dalmatian duo—inside and out—and it’s been such a pleasure getting to know them both. 💚

Here’s what Shannon had to say:

“Both Ellen and Katie are great with my boys.

My younger boy, Bucky, has recently started hydro and can lack some confidence in new scenarios and with new people. By his second session, he’s starting to understand what the girls need from him, and he’s getting more confident with it all due to their patience.

100% recommend these ladies.”

Thank you so much for your kind words—it truly means a lot! 💚

Meet Shadow 🐾

Shadow is a 9-year-old cat who underwent a femoral head and neck excision back in 2019.

What is that? 🦴
It’s a surgical procedure where the “ball” part of the hip joint is removed to eliminate painful bone-on-bone contact. Over time, the body forms a “false joint” made of soft tissue, allowing movement to become much more comfortable.

He first came to see us in 2024 after developing increasing lameness in that leg.

We introduced a tailored plan including gentle home exercises, massage, laser therapy, home adaptations, and worked closely with his vet on pain management.

Fast forward to now… Shadow is back to enjoying life as an outdoor cat and just pops in for maintenance sessions!

I’d love to say it’s the massages he enjoys most… but honestly, I think it’s being hand-fed chicken!

Well done, Shadow — keep up the amazing work! 💚

Water resistance helps dogs build strength while keeping pressure off sore joints. It’s one of the reasons hydrotherapy is so beneficial during recovery. 🐾

Meet Emmett the Rescue Tripod 💚

Emmett came to us to help strengthen his legs, improve his mobility, and reduce the strain on his remaining limbs. After needing a forelimb amputation, Emmett was incredibly lucky to be adopted by wonderful owners who didn’t let his disability hold him back.

To support his recovery, Emmett has been given tailored home exercises and has started swimming sessions in our underwater treadmill.

For Emmett, swimming is better than walking in the tank. With a missing forelimb, the drag of the water would make walking too difficult. Swimming allows him to safely build strength and fitness while remaining non-weightbearing.

Emmett absolutely loved his session — and even walked up the ramp to jump back in at the end!

Well done, Emmett! 🌟

You may have seen our resident fluff ball / towel-robe model extraordinaire… but it’s time for a proper intro: Lou Lou 💚

Ellen and Katie have been working with Lou Lou since 2023 for the ongoing management of her bilateral elbow dysplasia. Her elbows were severely affected from a young age, and she’s had a long road with rehab.

Despite all that, Lou Lou still shows up happy, does her clinic patrols, collects cheese, and demands all the fuss 🧀✨

We’re so proud of how far she’s come — from struggling with 30-second reps to now smashing 2-minute reps like a champ 💪

Proof that consistency, patience, and a whole lot of love make a difference.

Meet Lily — a 15-year-old Collie x Husky who came to see us for support with her left carpal hyperextension (that’s her wrist).

Her carpus had severe laxity, to the point where it was almost touching the ground when she walked. Lily was referred by her vets to explore alternatives to surgery, which would have meant fusing her wrist in a fixed position.

Instead, we fitted her with a WIMBA Carpal Pro orthotic — a custom-made, 3D-printed brace designed specifically for her limb. After scanning and measuring, we were able to fine-tune how much movement her wrist is allowed. For Lily’s comfort and quality of life, we didn’t lock her wrist completely straight and allowed a small amount of extension.

Now Lily has extra support on her short walks, helping her stay comfortable and mobile. 🐕✨ Her vets are continuing to manage her pain with appropriate pain relief as part of her ongoing care.

A great example of how custom orthotics can be a supportive option when surgery isn’t the right fit. 💚
