"A recommendation is trust made visible.” 🥹

I’ve had an influx of enquiries recently, and so many have started with, “You were recommended to me by a friend / neighbour / colleague,” or someone I’ve previously had the privilege of working with.

Sometimes I don’t see the comments or recommendations shared on social media, so I just wanted to say thank you. It truly means the world to me, for so many reasons...

🤍 You trusted me enough to want someone else to have that same experience.

🤍 Without even realising it, your healing is contributing to someone else’s. I think that’s the most special ripple effect.

🤍 Together, recommendation by recommendation, we’re helping to reduce the stigma around therapy and making it easier for people to reach out for support.

So, thank you. Your trust and kind words mean the world 🫶🏻

I do currently have limited availability for new clients, so if you’ve been thinking about reaching out, or know someone who might benefit from counselling or psychotherapy, please feel free to get in touch or share my details with them.

Thank you for being part of this little ripple effect. It means more than you know✨

Two years ago, I opened the door to my therapy room... A little dream reached. (Actually… a very big one 🥹)

I’ve worked in mental health for over 12 years, practised as a psychotherapist for 10, and been in private practice for 8.

Swipe to see the room where my private practice first began 🙊

This space is more than four walls, it’s where safety is built, where nervous systems soften and where some of the most courageous stories are spoken out loud.

And if little me had known that the experiences she lived through would one day pave the way to this space…

I think she’d feel proud 🤍

There comes a point where coping costs too much and the body begins to speak on your behalf.

It might show up as a tiredness sleep doesn’t touch.

As physical tension, in the back, shoulders, jaw or stomach.

Headaches.
Chest tightness.

Feeling overwhelmed more easily. Irritability and anger lying closer to the surface.

Struggling to truly relax.
Finding it hard to sit with your own thoughts,
needing distraction just to get through the day.

A quiet disconnection that can look like numbness, zoning out, or feeling like an outsider in your own life.

Where joy feels distant,
and autopilot feels familiar.

This isn’t a sign you’re not strong.
It’s a sign that what you’ve been carrying
was never meant to be carried alone.

If this resonates, you don’t have to hold it by yourself x

Reaching out again isn’t a step backwards, it’s often the step that matters most.

Sometimes when we’ve tried before, it can feel like a setback. It isn’t.
It might actually be guiding you towards support that’s far more suitable, and far more beneficial for you and your story.

💡 Fun fact: when I was training, a requirement was to complete a set number of hours of personal therapy. I didn’t just meet that number, I chose to continue beyond it. And not with the first person I spoke to, but with the person who felt like the right fit.

I’ve witnessed, both personally and professionally, the depth of change that can come from the right timing, connection, and approach in therapy. Not only for you now, but for lasting benefits.

The right therapy doesn’t just support you now, it can shape how you live, relate, and care for yourself long term.

📩 If you’re considering therapy again, you’re welcome to get in touch via message or email...

Warm wishes,
Amy

What people sometimes think counselling is vs what it really is…

Myth:
• Counselling looks backwards
• It dwells on the past
• It doesn’t focus on solutions
• It takes a long time to get to the root cause

Reality:
“I finally care about myself”
“I have healthier ways of coping”
“I feel more like me than ever before”
“My relationships feel so much stronger”
“My younger self would be so proud”
“I’ve just got my dream job”
“I can’t believe this is my life now”
“Things finally make sense”

We can keep putting out fires, or we can ask what’s lighting them…

As an integrative therapist, we don’t only focus on fighting the flames... learning tools for regulation, developing coping strategies, and increasing a sense of safety.

We also explore what’s fuelling the fire, and why it keeps returning or reigniting.

By working with both the here and now and the experiences that shaped you, therapy becomes a place where understanding leads to lasting change. Held by the safety of your own pace, while being gently challenged towards the growth and beauty that can be built from the ashes.

If this is something you've been considering, please feel free to reach out 🫶🏻

Some gentle thoughts as January comes to a close 🫶🏻

Your worth isn’t earned through productivity and perfectionism, it’s learned and reinforced through meeting unmet needs, developing healthier patterns, and allowing yourself to be.

If over time, you've learnt that productivity is where we are praised, chaos is familiar and the only way to strive is via struggle, then anything other can bring about the unease of unfamiliarity.

Growth isn't built through pushing and exhaustion, it's nurtured through safety and support.

I hope your first chapter of the year has been gentle. If safety in calmness feels hard to reach, therapy can be a supportive place to begin ✨

Last night was the last evening of the Grief Support Circle, a group iv had the privilege of facilitating and sharing the space with some incredible people.

Grief isn't something that needs fixing. It needs time, space and safety. Sometimes we don't need a hero, we need a witness. To feel heard and seen.

Some points we explored were;

✨ The 5 stages of grief are interesting to explore, and what's absolutely vital is remembering the "stages" aren't a linear process.

In addition to that, what felt more realistic were other, maybe more unexpected ailments of loss; the numbness, the dissociation or zoning out, the unexpected ways it can show itself, and the warped sense of time, almost like a blur.

✨ Who are we after loss? The impact it has on identity, purpose, relationships and roles.

✨ Grief walks beside you now, it isn't something that can be avoided or cured, it will be with you through the big moments and in the quieter ones too, it will take many different shapes and sizes, but what it will always do, is represent the love, be a reminder of the love, and that is the love that never leaves 🤍

Thank you so much to those who trusted and shared this special space🤍
