“High-Functioning” Doesn’t Mean Someone is OK
Some people can be high-achieving, productive, and engaged—and still be struggling.

High-functioning anxiety & depression are real. They often look like:
🔹 Perfectionism & overworking
🔹 Avoiding delegating because “it’s easier to do it myself”
🔹 Feeling overwhelmed but unable to say “no”

Just because someone seems fine, doesn’t mean they don’t need support.

Mental Health Training for Leaders: A Must, Not a “Nice-to-Have”
Would you promote a manager who had zero training in financial management? Probably not.

So why are so many managers promoted without any training in mental health and people management?

🔹 80% of employees would rather talk to their manager about work stress than HR.
🔹 But 60% of managers say they don’t feel equipped to support struggling employees.

Mental health challenges are affecting millions of workers across the UK:
💼 1 in 3 employees (10 million people) experienced mental health issues in 2024.
🕒 10% of UK adults took time off due to mental health, with nearly half of absences lasting over a month.
💷 Employers faced an estimated £51 billion annual cost, largely from presenteeism (working while unwell).
🌱 Younger workers are hit hardest, with 1 in 3 employees aged 18-24 taking stress-related leave.
