Due to the heat and weather warnings to risk to health the walk will be cancelled on Friday, however I will still be at Flour Flower for anyone wanting to talk and enjoy a cool drink. From 2pm to 3.30pm

My FB page will soon be changing names, to Middle Street Wellbeing , not much will change yet. From September I will be still doing the coffee morning's as these have proved popular.
I will be adding a meet up group where we can meet at a coffe shop and everyone can have space to talk and meet new people, this will be done under supervision to make it safe for all.
There will be changes made to the walking group aswell.

From January 2027
I will be putting together a group where myself will facilitate around 6 people to be able to talk freely and feel supported in this group, this is in the early days of planning, the idea is one person at a time will talk and others listen and respond with their experiences.
That may sound scary but i will be doing different groups once every 3 months for example Anxiety one week. Trauma another week, this will not mean you have to divulge anything that will trigger you, you only share what is safe for you.

Thank you all for you're continued support.

One of the things that we hear about a lot are the feelings of isolation and loneliness. There can be many reasons behind those reasons, loss of a loved one, moving to a new area, having to give up a job for health reasons, loss of a job, health issues, relationship breakdowns, and feelings that you 'dont fit in anywhere'.

It might seem that everyone else you see looks happy, and spend time in each other's company. You might feel that after a time you dont even feel like leaving your home, maybe your confidence and self esteem are low.

We understand that it can be hard to reach out, and that some days feel like huge mountains to climb, or that uou simply can't see where you might go to get help.
Sometimes its a case of being in the moment and just deciding to get in touch with someone, before you overthink it and change your mind!

There are some amazing organisations across the bay who can help, people like Torbay Community Builders who will take time to listen, as well as Social Prescribing at your surgery. There are some fabulous groups like HealthScape CIC Dorrie's Designs Mummy and Me Brixham Bereavement and so many more across the bay. There's pretty much something to suit everyone ...not forgetting your local libraries who run regular events.
We are presently working on some changes with our Gamers group, which will soon be called 'Beyond the Game' and will welcome neurodivergent adults to a safe space to feel both connected and supported.

Our friends at Middle Street Walkers have recently been proactive in bringing people together and have plans to develop what they do.

If you are feeling alone and isolated right now, be gentle with yourself, uou don't have to tackle everything in one go. Maybe make that enquiry send the email, on a day when you feel the time is right.
