People of all faiths, and those with no faith, are welcome to adopt. Many adopters are inspired by the values at the heart of their faith, such as compassion, kindness and caring for others, but what matters most is your ability to provide a child with a safe, stable and loving home.

Today we're celebrating our four-legged family members and the incredible difference they can make in a child's life.

Dogs are so much more than loyal companions. They can help children build confidence, responsibility and empathy, encourage outdoor play and exercise, and provide comfort during life's biggest transitions. For many children, a dog's unconditional love can reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, boost self-esteem, and create a reassuring sense of belonging.

For some children, including those with autism or ADHD, specially trained assistance dogs can offer additional support, helping with routines, emotional regulation and everyday challenges.

💙 Do you need to be married to adopt?

No. We welcome adopters from all walks of life, whether you're single, married, or in a long-term relationship.

If you're applying as a couple, we usually recommend that you've lived together for at least two years before starting your adoption journey. This helps ensure children are placed into stable and secure homes.

Adoption can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be challenging at times. That's why the assessment process looks at how you've navigated life together and the strengths you can bring as a family.

There is no one-size-fits-all adopter. What matters most is your ability to provide a loving, stable, and supportive home. 💙

No. While you must be at least 21 years old to adopt, there is no upper age limit.

When considering an adoption application, agencies will look at factors such as your health, the age difference between you and the child, and your ability to support a child through to adulthood.For this reason, younger children are often placed with younger adopters. However, people of all ages successfully adopt and provide loving, stable homes for children who need them.
