Come along to our Summer Open Day and spend time with our friendly ponies and furry friends in our beautiful woodland setting at Welton Waters.

We're so excited to welcome children and families to Shetland Pony and Friends this summer for lots of magical outdoor adventures.

One of the greatest lessons our animals teach us is that behaviour is communication.

A pony doesn’t wake up one morning and decide to be “difficult.”
They might be feeling worried.
Unsure.
Frustrated.
Excited.
Uncomfortable.
Pain.

Children and young people are often no different.

When we begin to ask, “What is this behaviour telling me?” instead of “How do I stop this behaviour?”, our whole approach changes.

At Shetland Pony & Friends Animal Therapy, our animals help us explore emotions without judgement. They respond honestly, live in the moment and help people recognise feelings that can sometimes be difficult to put into words.

Understanding behaviour starts with curiosity, empathy and connection, not punishment.
