We’re delighted to share some feedback following our recent mock inspection.

The service achieved a potential overall rating of ‘Good’ with our Caring domain assessed as ‘Outstanding’ at 95% 🩵

For us, this is so much more than a score. It is a reflection of the culture we have worked incredibly hard to build — a culture where people are genuinely known, listened to, respected and supported to live the lives they choose.

The feedback highlighted a truly caring, compassionate and person-centred service, with many examples of our incredible team going above and beyond to achieve outcomes that genuinely matter to the people we support.

What made us especially proud was the consistency between what people receiving our care and their families told the inspector, and what was seen through care records, case studies and conversations with our team.

From supporting people to remain independent and take positive risks, to adapting care around individual goals, relationships and quality of life — our team demonstrated what person-centred care really means.

And yes… that includes swimming, ponies 😂 and even someone helping to train their own care team in the use of their transfer equipment!🐴🏊‍♀️

There are, of course, areas we need to strengthen, particularly around governance, documentation and recording. Importantly, the feedback was clear that these areas did not indicate poor or unsafe care— rather, the paperwork did not always fully reflect the exceptional care being delivered in practice.

Perhaps the comment that means the most to us was from Danni out inspector, who said:

I would genuinely be happy for them to care for a member of my own family.”*

We honestly couldn’t ask for a stronger endorsement. ❤️

One year ago, we opened the doors to Visiting Angels North Devon & Cornwall, and what an incredible first year it has been.

It has been a true privilege to be welcomed so warmly by our local communities. From day one, we've been met with kindness, encouragement and trust, and for that we are truly grateful.

I couldn't be prouder of our amazing team. They have consistently delivered the standard of care that I would want for my own family, no matter what challenges have come their way. From an exceptionally wet winter (when I genuinely wondered if I should issue paddleboards as essential kit!), to the hottest summer days and eye-watering fuel prices, they have shown up every single day with compassion, professionalism and unwavering commitment.

On a personal level, I have been deeply touched by the kindness and compassion I have witnessed, not only from our team but also from our clients and their families. Every day we are inspired by the bravery, resilience, humour and joy of the people we have the privilege to support. They remind us why we do what we do and are helping shape my outlook on life.

None of this would have been possible without our incredible care team, our wonderful office gang and Emma Woolf whose fun, knowledgeable and professional approach has helped shape the culture and values that make Visiting Angels North Devon & Cornwall what it is today.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout our first year. Here's to another year of making a difference, growing our amazing team, and continuing to help people live well in the place they love most... home.

🎉 One whole year of Angels North Devon & Cornwall! 🎉

Yesterday marked our 1-year anniversary, and what an incredible journey it’s been!

Over the past year, we’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful clients, building an amazing team of dedicated Angels, and creating friendships that we know will last a lifetime. Every visit, every smile, and every connection has made this journey so rewarding.

We couldn’t have done it without the incredible support of our clients, our hardworking Angels, our families, and everyone who has believed in us from the very beginning. Thank you for being part of our story.

Here’s to celebrating everything we’ve achieved together and to another year of making a difference in our community. We can’t wait to see what the future holds! 💙🥂✨
