After another lovely outdoor Pilates and yesterday, i thought i'd share some recent reviews from those who've attended.

Exercising outside has so many benefits and honestly that followed by an amazing breakfast and catch up with everyone is just perfect. A lot were saying yesterday how they feel its such a good way to start your Sunday.

We've still got 3 more dates left for this season: 5th July, 16th Aug and 6th Sept. I'll pop the booking link below but any questions please ask 🥰

Are you leaking urine when you’re running?

There’s a lot of misunderstanding around how to manage this. Typically a lot of ladies are told that doing pelvic floor exercises is the only thing to do. And absolutely it often forms part of the plan, but it’s not the only thing to do, especially if you’re not seeing any improvements.

In my clinic both face to face and online I look at the whole body. I want to see how your body moves during a variety of loaded/ impact / running positions. Because from there we can make a specific plan for you.

If you’re stuck and not seeing improvements with what you’re doing, then maybe it’s time for a different approach?

Drop me a message to book in for a full body assessment to manage your symptoms.

Imagine being told kegels (pelvic floor exercises) were the only thing to do to manage your symptoms.

Imagine being told to just keep doing more, even though things weren't changing.

Imagine if this wasn't a pelvic health issue we were talking about and it was knee pain, can you actually imagine being given one exercise - say a static quads squeeze and just being told to keep doing this?

No you can't right, because it would be ridiculous!

Another week of seeing influencers returning to running at 6 weeks postnatal.

I don’t recommend it and I know this feels too black and white a recommendation, but I stand by it.

We have excellent evidence based postnatal running guidelines that support a minimum of 3-6 months.

Surely waiting a few more weeks is in your interest? That and invest in a full check.

You birthed a baby, you deserve a full assessment ❤️

If you’re having symptoms, you deserve to have a full examination (by an expert in pelvic health).

An examination of your pelvic floor forms part of a bigger picture of pelvic health. Yes I like to shout about their being more to it than just pelvic floor (because there’s so much more).

But flipping heck let’s at least get the basics right!

A “typical” pelvic floor examination would include:
- Observation of the external v***a tissue health
- External observation of the perineum during pelvic floor activation, bearing down, cough
- An internal digital palpation of the vaginal walls
- Pelvic floor activation assessment of the superficial and deep fibres
- Structural assessment of the vaginal wall during activation, bearing down and cough
- Pelvic floor activity with diaphragmatic breathing

There are more specifics depending on your symptoms but this would be a basic.

All done in lying but often, especially if you’re symptomatic in other positions we might want to review that too

If you’ve not had this done then I’ll die on this hill to say you have not had your pelvic floor assessed properly. And so how the hell could you possibly know how to rehab it?

Or what I hear a lot is “I’ve been doing those squeezes for years and they don’t work” so is it the case they don’t work or is it that you haven’t been examined properly and given specific guidance for you?

Always going to be more than pelvic floor to do, but let’s at least optimise this!

You absolutely deserve it ❤️

It’s never too late….
Small changes, consistency & a bit of grit

Ladies, building strength and continuing to build, needs to be our priority.

It doesn’t need to look like going to the gym every day, or even at all.

It doesn’t need to look like a pull up (although I’m still super proud of this milestone for me) 😆

I truly believe that you can build strength with very little time or fancy equipment.

I know we don’t have time and I know we’re overwhelmed.

Trust me I get it.

At I help ladies build strength, wherever they’re at. That may look like a session at my clinic in Burbage, an online appointment or doing “Pilates” . I continue to call it Pilates even though we’ve very much branched out into functional strength training 💪🏼

You deserve to build strength. And it’s definitely not too late.

If you’re truly ready to make consistent changes, drop me a dm to find out how i can help ❤️

PSA - for those diagnosed with a prolapse (even though those who see me in clinic know I don’t like labelling - because of the box it puts you in - and the connotations / limitations with said box)

Anyway as always these messages come from hearing so many stories from ladies who’ve been quite frankly fobbed off with limited advice.

“Just do pelvic floor and don’t lift” is a classic.

So here we are, this isn’t a fancy reel, because tbh I’m exhausted with fighting the algorithm to get women’s health out there - spending hours curating the perfect reel means zero.

In essence you deserve more and please tell your friends, because it’s likely that they do too.

And if you’re still reading now please like, save and reshare, because that is the only way to make your voice heard around here. Rant over, see you next time 😆

Want to start running? Whether you're returning to running postpartum, or taking running up for the first time in years../

Don’t just focus on the pelvic floor in isolation. And don't wait to "see how you get on"

A full-body assessment can help identify the bigger picture... from strength and movement patterns to load management and pelvic health support.

Think of it as preparing your whole body to run well 🥰

"You gave me my life back"

Wow when you have doubts about how much impact you're making, this message really, really hits hard.

It's at times exhausting, continuing to advocate for this care. Especially when I see so much misinformation out there - both on social media and at times by people we are trusting with our care.

All I'll say is this, you deserve an individual assessment. And trust your instincts. This lady did. She'd been given (by other professionals) limitations on her life. We changed that.

For those of you in the same battle to advocate for the women who are being dismissed, keep going.

27/04/2026

Another day in clinic…
Another day of women who’ve been dismissed.

Every single person I saw today had a story of not being listened to when they asked for help with their pelvic health.

These are women who’ve done their research. Who understand their bodies. Who came prepared with questions. And yet they’re still having to fight to be heard.

So what happens to the women who don’t have the confidence, or access to that information?

We can’t keep calling this “normal.”We can’t keep expecting women to just push through.

You deserve to be listened to.
You deserve proper assessment, clear answers and real support.

If something doesn’t feel right in your body, it’s worth paying attention to and it’s worth being taken seriously.

That’s exactly what is for. This is why I created a space where you can be heard, listened to and supported.

You’re not alone with this ❤️
