Disability Week is the perfect moment to shine a light on the incredible achievements of the people we support — and the dedication of the teams who walk alongside them every day.

At the heart of our organisation is a simple belief: everyone deserves the chance to achieve outcomes, make choices, and enjoy a full, meaningful life 🧡

Today, we want to share a story that captures exactly what that looks like in action.

💚 Meet Mr H — A Story of Growth, Confidence & New Beginnings!

When we first took over Mr H’s care package, we knew how important it was to truly understand him — his routines, his preferences, and the things that help him feel safe and settled.

With no family around him, his care team play a huge role in his life, and we wanted to get it right. So we spent time with the people who knew him best, listened carefully, and built support around what already worked well.

From there, we gently introduced new choices, new environments, and new opportunities — always at his pace and slowly, something wonderful happened.

✨ He started making independent decisions.
Real, meaningful ones. He chose a completely new haircut — a bold change from what he’d always had. He walked out of the barbers beaming, and the short‑back‑and‑sides has been his signature look ever since 😎

He picked new colours to decorate his home, including the most fabulous shade of green for his bedroom — a colour that feels entirely “him”.

He learned to take his medication independently.

He opened his own bank account and now manages his own bank card.

He chooses his community activities and even helps pick his holiday destinations.

These may seem like small steps to some, but for Mr H they represent confidence, autonomy, and a life shaped by his own choices.

Supporting children and young adults with learning disabilities, autism and behavioural needs.
