A relaxing day at Abermill. Our residents enjoyed a wonderful Namaste Day, with lovely face masks, relaxing music, dimmed lights, beautiful aromatherapy scents and candles creating peaceful atmosphere. 💆

Residents have been getting creative with some scratch art, revealing lots of lovely colourful designs. 🎨

Later we were delighted to welcome back a very special little visitor. Sheldon the tortoise 🐢Sheldon always brings such lovely smiles to residents faces.
We also celebrated a fantastic achievement for our staff member Sharon, who has completed an amazing 15 years at Abermill. A huge congratulations and thank you to Sharon for her 15 years of dedication and hard work ❤️👏

Our residents at abermill have been enjoying a lovely variety of activities.

We've had lots of fun with target games including one to one sessions, encouraging gentle movement concentration and plenty of smiles and a group quiz .

Residents have also enjoyed some relaxing pampering time, as well as getting creative making their very own sock puppets.

We've spent some special time reminiscing together, looking through residents photographs of holidays, much loved pets and happy memories over the years.

We had a reason to celebrate our wonderful team, recognising a fantastic long service milestone 10 years. A brilliant achievement and a huge thank you for all the care dedication and hard work over the years ❤️

Abermill have had a fun, creativity & relaxation day. Our residents have enjoyed a few games of bingo with lots of friendly competition.
We also got creative with some football themed colouring.
To finish off, we settled down for a cosy cinema afternoon where residents chose a film to watch together whilst enjoying popcorn and hot chocolate.

A special visitor at Abermill .
Today we had a very special visitor sheldon the tortoise 🐢💚
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed meeting Sheldon, with many taking the opportunity to gently touch him, have a closer look and watch as he slowly made his way across the floor.
There were lots of smiles, conversation and curiosity as residents learned a little more about him and enjoyed having such an unusual visitor.

Thank you Sheldon for coming to visit us. You're welcome back again ! 💚🐢

A day celebrating the life of Dolly Parton at Abermill.
Today we spent the day celebrating the life and incredible legacy of the one and only Dolly Parton following the sad news of her passing.
Residents enjoyed listening and singing along to many of Dolly's much loved songs, with plenty of familiar favourites bringing back wonderful memories. 🤠🎤
We also enjoyed colouring pictures of Dolly, reading about her fascinating life, career, and a fun quiz and reminiscing together about her music films, and the memories her music have given over the years .

Rest in peace, Dolly a true country music legend . ❤️

A relaxing fun day at abermill.

Our residents at Abermill have enjoyed a lovely day filled with puzzles, dominoes and jigsaws, keeping both hands and minds busy. 😁
We also enjoyed some wonderful group reminiscing, sharing memories and stories together along with special one to one with our residents. It was also lovely to welcome family visitors who spent time reminiscing and sharing special memories with their loved ones.

Later we had a relaxing Tai Chi session and as you can see one of our residents was so relaxed she was nearly asleep. 🥱

Abermill residents have enjoyed a lovely mix of activities and social time today. Residents had lots of fun choosing their own transfer tattoos with some proudly showing off the ones they already had and sharing memories and stories. Some residents enjoyed colouring spanish flags, which brought back happy memories of holidays in Spain.
We held a residents meeting where they had the opportunity to share what activities they have been enjoying, discussed upcoming events and also discussed what activities they would like to see happening at abermill and raise any other matters or suggestions they wished to discuss regarding the home. Later in the day they've enjoyed a quiz.
