The storm before the calm…

Last night’s Sound Bath at Brangwyn Hall began with rather more of a storm than any of us were expecting.

Due to a mix-up with the rooms, the time before the session was, to put it mildly, a little chaotic. Equipment being moved, mats being laid out, people helping wherever they could, and me trying to somehow pull everything together in time.

And then… we began.

The doors closed, the room settled, the gongs started to sing, and somehow the chaos outside gave way to the most beautiful calm.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped, adapted and simply went with it. I really appreciated your patience and understanding šŸ’—

Most importantly, though, if you were there last night and you feel that the disruption beforehand affected your experience of the Sound Bath in any way, please reach out to me through the website.

I’d genuinely like to invite you back and offer you a half-price ticket to the next Brangwyn Hall Sound Bath.

You came for an hour where nothing was expected of you. I want to make sure that’s what you received.

Thank you for weathering the storm with me. ā¤ļø

When two worlds collide… ā¤ļø

Today I held my first shamanic session in over a year.

And it felt beautiful to discover that the work I was returning to wasn’t quite the same work I had stepped away from.

Today, shamanic practice and sound met one another ✨

Some of the instruments that have become such an important part of my sound baths found their way into the space, weaving themselves naturally into the journey.

I want to say thank you to the beautiful woman who trusted me to hold space for her today šŸ’—

I feel incredibly blessed and deeply honoured that she trusted me to walk alongside her for a little while on her sacred journey back home to her heart ā¤ļø

And somehow, it felt like coming home for me too. šŸ™šŸ’›āœØ

I think sometimes people imagine that because I hold sound baths, I must have this whole ā€œrestingā€ thing figured out.

That I’m naturally calm. That I can simply stop, switch off and settle whenever I choose.

I really can’t.

I know that feeling I sometimes see in people at the beginning of a sound bath all too well.
The restlessness. The agitation.
The body lying still while something inside is saying, Come on. We should be doing something more productive.

I have that voice too.

Sometimes I find it incredibly difficult to stop doing.
There’s always another email, another job, another idea, another thing that could be sorted out.
And even when I deliberately stop, part of me can still be quietly reminding me of everything I should be doing instead.
I feel a pull in my abdomen - an ache, a pang 😩

I have to make rest a deliberate act.
Almost like a tiny ceremony.
And one of my favourites is cacao šŸ’—

I make myself a cup, take it to the garden and sit. No laptop. No job to complete. Nothing I’m trying to achieve.

Sometimes it’s only ten minutes.

And for those ten minutes, my only job is to drink the cacao, look at the garden and allow myself to be there.

I’m sharing this because if you ever come to one of my sound baths and find yourself struggling to settle, please don’t look towards the front of the room and imagine there’s someone sitting there who has somehow mastered all of this.

He hasn’t- far from it.

There’s just another human being who knows what it feels like to have a busy mind, a restless body and that nagging little voice saying, ā€œCome on, you should be doing something now.ā€

And who is still learning, that I don’t always have to be doing something in order to be worthy of this life.

Sometimes I’m allowed to just sit in the garden, drink my cacao and be present to life ✨

Such a beautiful sound bath last night at Bronleigh House. The space we use is perfect for a sound bath, quite, calm and still ✨

As I was packing away last night I was asked by 2 sound bathers:

"What is that music that you played for us?"
"Share the playlist......"

I don't have a playlist as such, but here are 5 of my most played songs either at home or at the start and end of sound bath šŸ’›

Mother Divine 108 Sacred Names | Craig Pruess - Topic
https://youtu.be/uOuIgTSyVIk?si=y-wQYrvClSf_WB1O

Pachamama | Beautiful Chorus

Prana Apana Sushumna Hari Meditation | Meditative Mind

Gajumaru (Acoustic) | YAIMA Music

And a bonus, this is a special one that is very dear to my heart.
A meditation that is worth your full attention, so lay down somewhere quiet and treat yourself to 8:23 of Ram Dass & Jon Hopkins.

A few sound bathers mentioned that they’re tempted to take a sneaky peek from under their eye masks during a sound bath to see what I’m up to 😁

So, here’s a little glimpse ✨

Every instrument has its own unique voice, and each one is played with a different intention - I thought it might be nice to share a small part of the experience from the garden 🌸🌺🌻🌼

This evening’s Intimate Sound Bath at the beautiful Bronleigh House is going to be a really special one šŸ’—

There’s something beautiful about these smaller gatherings. A quieter room, fewer people, and the chance to simply arrive, settle, and let everything you’ve been carrying soften for a while.

If you were unable to make it this evening, don’t worry—we’ll be doing it all again in two weeks’ time.

Or, if you’d prefer, you can join one of my standard Sound Baths next week, where you’ll experience the same deeply relaxing journey in a larger group setting.

Whichever feels right for you, I’d love to welcome you.

✨ Book your place via the website.

Today I had the privilege of holding a private Space to Settle session in the yurt.

They arrived carrying a weight that words could barely describe. There wasn’t anything to fix, no destination to reach and no expectation that they should somehow feel ā€œbetterā€ by the end.

We simply created space.

Space to slow down.

Space to breathe.

Space to be held.

During our conversation, I found myself sharing a line from Ram Dass that has stayed with me for a long time:

ā€œThe real work we have to do is in the privacy of our own hearts.ā€

As much as those who love us can stand beside us, encourage us and support us, there are parts of life that only we can walk through ourselves.

Sometimes what we need isn’t another solution.

Sometimes we simply need a place where we don’t have to carry everything on our own for a little while.

At the end of our time together, they shared that they felt deeply held—by me, by the space and by the instruments.

To everyone who places their trust in me, thank you šŸ’—

If life feels particularly heavy at the moment, or your nervous system simply needs somewhere safe to land, the yurt is here.

There are no expectations.

No performance.

No outcomes to achieve.

Just a gentle, held space where you can arrive exactly as you are.
