I see so many brilliant women living a half life.

Putting everyone else first. Shrinking their dreams to fit the gap that’s left. Telling themselves - maybe next year. Maybe when things calm down. Maybe when I’ve earned it.

You don’t need to earn it.

Being joyously happy is your birthright.
Living out your dreams is your birthright.
Having beautiful experiences is your birthright.
Being surrounded by amazing people is your birthright.
Being in love with your life is your birthright.

“That part of me is dead” she said - then looked shocked at her own words.

Who’s ready to resurrect the dreams that never quite went away? 💭

I am noticing more and more how women apologise for EVERYTHING.

Read this list again.

How many of them have come out of your mouth this week?

Sorry my hair looks a mess.
Sorry I’m late.
Sorry for the state of the house.
Sorry I couldn’t stay.
Sorry I haven’t replied.

When did sorry become the default?
We apologise for taking up space, having needs, existing exactly as we are.

And after years of putting everyone else first, it becomes so automatic you barely hear yourself saying it anymore.

Then one day you look around and wonder:
“What happened to me?”

What I think happened is - you kept making yourself small so others could shine. To keep the peace. To avoid confrontation.

How would it feel to let that go? To stop apologising for being you?

I want you to try it this week. Start small - catch yourself writing it in an email - and delete it!

My preferred replacement is “unfortunately”. It might be unfortunate for them - but I’m not sorry 😆

My next newsletter is going to deep dive into this - DM me your email if you want the anti sorry list - straight to your inbox 😘
