Are you training your bladder to be tiny? ❌ If you head to the loo every time you feel a tiny “scratchy” sensation, you’re having a yogurt pot wee (about 100ml).

The Problem: Going every hour teaches your bladder it’s only this big. Then, when you actually need to hold it for a meeting or a movie, you end up sweaty and uncomfortable.

The Fix: Aim for the “Flowery Mug” size! ☕️
* This is roughly every 2–3 hours.
* Your bladder gives you a friendly nudge instead of a panic.
* No rushing, no doorstep dash—just a calm, controlled trip to the loo.

Happy Sunday! ☀️ If your morning coffee has your bladder screaming at you, this one is for you. The “One In, One Out” Rule ☕️

What goes in must come out! To keep things comfortable, you ideally want one “mug-sized” wee for every mug you drink. If you let two or three mugs “stack up” before heading to the loo, you’re looking at a pint-sized emergency—and nobody wants that kind of rush on a Sunday!

A mug-sized bladder is a happy, patient bladder. It’s happy to wait while you finish your brunch or stand in a queue, saying: “I’ll have a wee when you’re ready.”

You are not alone, and bladder urgency can be fixed. Pelvic health physiotherapists are the experts at retraining your bladder so you can stop scouting for the nearest toilet.

To get through the door dry, you need a conversation, not a shout. That means holding your pelvic floor for 20-30 seconds to silence the panic. ⏱️

Most people skip the “slow holds” because they take too long—but they are the secret to building the endurance you actually need in real life!

Tighten or Relax? Which one wins the front door battle? 🗝️⚔️ In Part 2 of this series, we’re looking at what to actually do when that bladder panic hits.

There are two main physical “arguments” you can have with your bladder:
* Tightening your pelvic floor for 20–30 seconds sends a “stay calm” signal to your bladder muscle. 🛑
* Releasing your pelvic floor (the pretend-to-tie-your-shoelace-trick) Dropping into a deep squat and relaxing can actually break the sensation of urgency and give your bladder more space. 👟
