It turns out it's not just horse shows that can go slightly off-plan. π€£
For the first time in 11 years, my husband and I have escaped for a weekend away without children.
Just us.
A bit of peace.
A bit of quiet.
A bit of pretending we're young and spontaneous.
We arrive at the apartment we'd booked.
The description?
β¨ "Superb city flats." β¨
Now, I'm not entirely sure what their definition of superb is...
But after taking approximately one step inside the building and being hit by a smell that suggested half the city was smoking w**d in the communal hallway, we quickly realised this wasn't quite the romantic getaway we'd imagined. π€£
To be fair, this isn't my first Booking.com adventure.
I've booked places that looked nothing like the photos.
I've booked places that seemed to have entirely different definitions of "luxury."
And once... we actually arrived and discovered the house had been sold. π€£π€£π€£
Yet somehow I continue to use it as a website.
I clearly have the memory span of a horse spotting the same wheelbarrow for the 500th time and acting like it's a new predator.
Thankfully, after a very quick rethink, we managed to book a gorgeous hotel overlooking the harbour instead.
Crisis averted.
The moral of the story?
Sometimes things don't go to plan.
Sometimes your carefully organised vision goes completely sideways.
And sometimes the best part of the story happens after Plan A falls apart.
Now excuse me while I enjoy a weekend of not rushing!!!!!
We had to Google how much some of those boats cost....and omg....we think horse boxes are expensive......
