🎉 A huge congratulations to Maira! 🎉

Yesterday Maira achieved her AAT (accountancy) Level 2 qualification – and we couldn’t be prouder! 👏

Maira joined us on a work placement eager to learn about accounts. Unfortunately, she wasn’t getting the investment and support she deserved through her placement company. We saw her potential, determination so we decided to invest in her.

We funded Maira’s private education and yesterday all of her hard work paid off as she qualified with her AAT Level 2.

This is exactly what we believe in – giving people opportunities!!

Maira has worked incredibly hard, and this achievement is thoroughly deserved 😊

💗 A Little Appreciation Goes a Long Way! 💗

We would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful Community Support Officers and our lovely Receptionist Jodie who were recently gifted some beautiful presents from the families of our service users. 🎁🥰

These thoughtful gestures mean so much and are a lovely reminder of the positive impact our team has on the lives of the people we support and their families. 💕

To our Community Support Officers Abby & Ellie - thank you for everything you do, for your kindness, compassion and dedication. You truly are appreciated! 🌸

And a heartfelt thank you to our service users’ families for your generosity and kind thoughts. 💗

From all of us at 1st Grade Care — thank you! 💕✨

If you are friends with me, you should be aware of my sentiments regarding Veterans so I am bringing it up. I am fairly confident that I already know two individuals who will assist, but I am hopeful that I will receive more responses, as this is a pressing concern.
Twenty-two Veterans succumb to their struggles daily. May I request that two friends or family members copy and repost this message?

Someone's life may depend on it. ❤️‍🩹

A huge thank you to our lovely service user Denise, who very kindly surprised our office team with beautiful flowers and a thoughtful card to show her appreciation. 💐💖

Acts of kindness like this mean so much to our staff and remind us why we love what we do every day. It is a privilege to support such wonderful people, and we are incredibly grateful for Denise’s generosity and thoughtfulness.

Thank you, Denise, for putting smiles on our faces and brightening our day! 🌷✨

We have declared a Critical Incident because of exceptionally high demand on our 999 service.

Call volume has increased by 31% compared with the same Monday-to-Thursday period two weeks ago. This week the service has received approximately 400 additional emergency 999 calls each day, with yesterday 50% higher than normal.

We’re working hard to provide the best possible care for our patients, but our message to the public today – and over the coming days – is to only call 999 if it’s a genuine emergency.

The NHS 111 Wales website can help with advice on staying well in warm weather, like drinking plenty, keeping cool and checking in on vulnerable family, friends and neighbours. It also has advice on a range of health issues and what to do.

☀️ Heatwave Alert – Looking After Our Elderly and Vulnerable Community ☀️

With temperatures rising, it’s more important than ever to make sure our elderly and vulnerable loved ones stay safe and well during the hot weather.

Remember to:
💧 Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day
🏠 Keep homes cool by closing curtains and blinds during the hottest hours
👕 Wear light, loose-fitting clothing
🌳 Avoid going out during the hottest part of the day where possible
👀 Keep an eye out for signs of heat exhaustion, dehydration and heatstroke
📞 Check in on neighbours, friends and family members who may need extra support

If you notice symptoms such as dizziness, confusion, excessive sweating, headaches or unusual tiredness, seek advice promptly.

At 1st Grade Care, the wellbeing of our service users is our priority all year round, especially during periods of extreme heat. ❤️

Stay safe, stay hydrated and look out for one another. 🌞💙
