If you’re a woman navigating the demands of midlife, you might feel like you’re running on empty. This sense of overwhelm, anxiety, and lost confidence is incredibly common, but it doesn't have to be your constant state. I’m your Clinical Hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner, and Wellbeing Coach. At Aurora Hypnotherapy, I provide a gentle, confidential space for you to finally put yourself first. My Approach is simple: Transformation through Calm

With 12 years of clinical experience, I work with you to understand your individual needs, providing tailored support and powerful, practical tools you can use every day. I focus on helping you find:
Deep Calm: Reducing daily stress, anxiety, and sleepless nights. Menopause Balance: Supporting emotional and physical symptoms through mind-body techniques. I don’t just offer a listening ear; I provide powerful, practical tools that create lasting change in your everyday life. My practice is warm, nurturing and puts you at its' heart. My journey into this work started with my own struggles with anxiety, and the profound results inspired me to retrain. Now, I’m dedicated to offering that same transformative potential to you. I am CNHC accredited, ensuring safe and professional care. I chose the name 'Aurora' because it means 'dawn'. I believe that with the right support, midlife isn't an ending, it's a fresh start. September always feels like a turning point.

The long, carefree rhythm of summer begins to fade, routines start to reappear, and everywhere we look there seems to be an invitation to get organised, set goals, and start afresh.

Part of me loves that feeling. But another part notices how quickly September can become overwhelming. The pressure to catch up. To be productive. To get everything sorted all at once.

What if this season didn't have to begin with a rush?

Nature doesn't force its transitions. Trees don't cling desperately to old leaves, nor do they rush towards spring. They simply let go of what is no longer needed and trust that something new will emerge in its own time.

Perhaps we can do the same.

This month's Retreat newsletter is an invitation to pause before you plunge into autumn. To release what feels heavy, reconnect with what matters most, and gently consider what you'd like to nurture over the months ahead.

Not with pressure. Not with another long to-do list. Just with a little more intention.

I hope it helps you find a steadier way into the season.

If you'd like a read, just send a message and let me know.

So much for that 'new season, new start' this September. So far, I haven't achieved any of the things I planned to do this month!

Instead I've been confined to my sick bed with Covid. Scrolling through my phone I was delighted to discover a Danish concept which just sums everything up perfectly. The Danish term 'Pyt' encourages everyone to stop wasting energy on things we can't change. Essentially 'stuff happens, don't worry about it, let it go'.

It's also really satisfying to say out loud, with force, when you're met with another challenge...

Danish teachers even use pyt buttons to help children cope with everyday frustrations. The idea has become so popular that adults can buy them too. Press the button and it says, "Pyt, pyt, pyt" and "Breathe deeply, it will all be okay."

So this morning I'm firmly pressing my imaginary pyt button, letting go of everything that hasn't happened this month, and heading off on holiday instead.

Pyt!

Come with me on a trip to the beach...

This month’s Deep Pause relaxation session invites you into a quiet stretch of coastline — the kind you reach by following a winding path, where the world suddenly opens and everything inside you softens as the glorious view reveals itself before you.

As we gather online, you’ll be guided into a space that feels like arriving at the shore. The kind of beach where the air is cool enough to soothe, the light is gentle, and the horizon stretches out in a way that makes your thoughts loosen and lengthen.

- Imagine settling into stillness as the session begins.
- The soft pull of breath.
- The slow unfurling of your shoulders.
- The steady hush of waves rolling in and out
- The cool sand beneath your feet, the salt‑tinged breeze brushing past, the wide blue above that seems to quiet the chatter inside.

Nothing forced. Just a gentle guiding into the kind of rest your body remembers, even if you haven’t felt it in a while.

You don’t need to be anywhere near the sea to feel it. Just bring yourself, a comfortable place to settle, and the willingness to let the world slow down around you.

Sunday 20th August at 6pm, online
• £15 for a single session
• £30 for three sessions (includes a catch‑up recording if you miss one or want to listen again)

If you’d like to join this month’s beach‑side pause, simply reply and let me know.

I've been noticing a lot of talk about dopamine dressing lately - a trend that encourages us to wear clothes that make us feel good.

I've always loved bright colours but I think matching my drink to my dress deserves extra brownie points! A double dose of dopamine for me 🤩

Cheers - and have a great weekend 🥰

🏖️ Three ways to bring the seaside into your mind this August...

These tiny visualisations are simple, calming, and perfect for a month where you want things to feel easy:

The Shoreline Breath — Imagine standing at the edge of the water. As you inhale, the tide comes in; as you exhale, it drifts back. Let your breath follow the rhythm.

The Blue Horizon — Picture a wide stretch of blue in front of you — sea or sky. Let your eyes rest on that imagined horizon and feel your mind widen with it.

The Pebble Drop — Visualise dropping a small pebble into calm water. Watch the ripples move outwards. Let each ripple soften a layer of tension.

These are small, steady ways to cool the mind and settle your system — no travel, no planning, just a moment of blue.

As ever, Teddy's got the right idea!

After weeks of warm weather, the restorative power of blue therapy feels even stronger. The sea, a river, a lake — even the sound of running water — steadies us, cools the mind, and creates a sense of spaciousness.

This month’s Wellbeing Retreat newsletter is full of gentle ways to let water cool your mind and create an ocean of calm within. The tools I share support both body and mind, easing stress, low mood, and anxiety.

And the best part? You don’t need to be anywhere near the water. I’ve included simple mind‑based practices — soft visualisations and sensory cues — that help your system settle wherever you are.

You don’t need a beach to feel calm. Just a moment where your mind can float.

If you’d like to read this month’s Retreat newsletter, just let me know.
