Sometimes life gets busy.

Work, family, appointments and the never ending to do list can mean that the people who matter most to us get pushed further and further down the list.

Over the last week, I was fortunate enough to spend a few days in Milan with my youngest son, followed by a trip to London with friends to see Luke Combs. The memories we made are ones I'll treasure for a very long time.

I know not everyone has the opportunity to take trips away, but making memories does not have to involve a holiday or an expensive day out.

Sometimes the most meaningful moments are simply sharing a cup of tea, having a chat, going for a walk or spending an hour with someone whose company you enjoy.

We often say, "I'll do it next week" or "I'll catch up with them soon." Before we know it, weeks turn into months, and so much can change in that time.

Human connection matters. It helps us feel valued, supported and less alone. Whether it is a family member, a friend, a neighbour or someone you have not spoken to in a while, reach out to them this week. It could make more of a difference than you realise.

And if you'd like to reach out to me, I'd be delighted to hear from you too.

There is a saying that the best investment you can make is in yourself.

I agree... but I'd go one step further.

Every course I complete and every new skill I learn isn't just an investment in me. It's an investment in every person I have the privilege of supporting through Stacey's Golden Friends.

The more knowledge I have, the better equipped I am to provide safe, compassionate and person-centred support.

Over the past few months, some of the training I have completed:

✔ Mental Health First Aid
✔ Emergency First Aid at Work
✔ Food Safety
✔ Allergen Awareness
✔ Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults
✔ ASIST (Applied Su***de Intervention Skills Training)

Learning never stops, and I don't believe it should.

Whether it's recognising when someone may be struggling, preparing food safely, understanding safeguarding responsibilities or simply having the confidence to support someone through a difficult conversation, every piece of training helps me provide the highest standard of care and companionship.

At Stacey's Golden Friends, I'm committed to continually developing my knowledge because the people who place their trust in me deserve nothing less.

Here's to always learning, always growing and always striving to make a positive difference. 💛

It's hard to believe it's been a few months since I recorded my very first introduction video back in March, before Stacey's Golden Friends officially launched in April.

Since then, I've had the privilege of meeting some wonderful people, supporting families, and doing what I set out to do, helping older people stay connected, independent, and supported in their own homes.

I thought it was the perfect time to reintroduce myself and share a little more about who I am, what I'm about, and why I started Stacey's Golden Friends in the first place. For me, this has never just been about providing a service. It's about building genuine relationships, taking the time to listen, and making a real difference to someone's day.

I'm generally quite an open book, so if there's anything you'd like to know about me, my business, or the services I offer, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll always do my best to answer any questions you have.

And if you've been thinking about reaching out to see how I could support you or someone you care about, I'd love to hear from you. Whether you prefer WhatsApp, a phone call, email, my website, or sending me a message on social media, I'm happy to communicate in whatever way feels most comfortable for you.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Stacey's Golden Friends so far. Your encouragement, recommendations, and trust mean more than you know.

You've been doing your best.

You call every day. You pop in whenever you can. You pick up the shopping, help with the little jobs around the house, and make sure the cupboards are full before you leave.

Then, as you drive away, the same thought crosses your mind...

"Will they be okay until I see them again?"

It's a feeling so many families know. Not because their loved one needs full-time care, but because everyone deserves more than simply getting through the day.

Sometimes, what they miss most isn't another task being done. It's having someone to share the day with. A friendly chat over a cup of tea. Someone to laugh with. Someone who notices when they're quieter than usual. Someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with them.

That's what Stacey's Golden Friends is all about.

We're here to bring companionship, conversation, and practical home help to older people who want to stay independent in the place they love most—their own home.

Whether it's helping with the shopping, preparing a light meal, doing a bit of housework, accompanying someone to an appointment, or simply sitting down for a chat, every visit is about making life a little brighter.

We don't believe in rushed visits. We believe in building genuine relationships, taking the time to get to know each person, and offering support that's tailored to their needs.

Because everyone deserves to feel seen. To feel valued. To know someone is looking forward to seeing them.

And for families, that means peace of mind too.

Knowing someone caring is checking in regularly. Knowing the little things aren't being overlooked. Knowing your loved one has someone they can rely on when you can't be there.

Sometimes, the greatest gift isn't doing everything for someone.

It's helping them continue living independently, with a little extra support and a friendly face along the way.

At Stacey's Golden Friends, we believe companionship can brighten a day.

And enough brighter days can make all the difference.

☀️ While the sunshine is golden, it's worth remembering that it can sometimes be a struggle, especially when the weather is hotter than we're used to.

Older people in particular can really feel the effects of the heat, so it's important to stay well hydrated. Dehydration can cause a range of problems, so keep your fluids up however you can. Whether that's water, cups of tea, iced lollies, or anything else that helps, every little bit counts. 💧

It's also a reminder to be kind to yourself. We're simply not used to working in these conditions, so if you don't get the housework done, miss the shopping, or leave a few jobs until another day, don't beat yourself up about it. It's okay. Those jobs will still be there when you come back to them.

Take your time, pace yourself, and remember that you are the most important thing. Your health and well-being always come first. ❤️

The holidays are here, and while they are often a time for family and togetherness, they can also be a time when some people feel lonely or isolated.

At Stacey's Golden Friends, we are here to help bring people together, encourage conversation, and support wellbeing through friendship and connection. That extends to bank holidays

If you have been thinking about joining us, or if you know someone who could benefit from spending time with others, now is a great time to get in touch.

This week I welcomed some new Golden Friends, who booked me in for a deep clean before their decorators arrive.

What really stood out to me wasn't just the cleaning. It was the reason they chose Stacey's Golden Friends.

They told me they wanted more than someone to come in, do a job and leave. They wanted someone they could chat with, get to know and feel comfortable having in their home.

That meant so much to me because that's exactly what I strive to be.

I don't just want to clean your home. I want to make your life a little easier, brighten your day and always go above and beyond for every Golden Friend who trusts me with their home.

I'm not going to pretend it wasn't hard work. Two days of deep cleaning in this incredible weather definitely tested me! But I was welcomed by two of the kindest people I've met.

Inviting someone into your home, especially if you've never had a cleaner or any extra support before, is a big step. It takes trust.

What touched me even more was their kindness. I never expect anything from my Golden Friends other than the opportunity to help, but this lovely couple, who have been together for over 50 years, insisted that I stop and have lunch with them on both days.

It was such a lovely reminder that, despite all the negativity we sometimes see, there are still genuinely kind people out there. People who value conversation, connection and treating others with kindness.

Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness. Sometimes it's the strongest thing you can do. Whether it's because life is busy, you're preparing for decorators, or you simply need an extra pair of hands, there's absolutely nothing wrong with getting the support you need.

I'd love to hear your thoughts. How do you feel about inviting someone into your home to help? Do you see it as a sign of weakness, or simply recognising when it's okay to ask for support?

When I first started thinking about Stacey's Golden Friends earlier this year, I believed my services would mainly support older people experiencing loneliness, isolation, or needing an extra helping hand.

Over the past few months, I've realised something important. Loneliness doesn't have an age limit. Neither does needing someone to lend a hand, share a conversation, or simply be a friendly face.

That's why Stacey's Golden Friends is here for anyone aged 18 and over. Whether you need practical support, companionship, or just someone to brighten your day, I'm here to help.

If you think you could benefit from my services, please reach out. We can have a chat about how I can support you.

Because everyone deserves kindness, connection, and someone in their corner.

Independence matters at every age.

Growing older doesn't mean giving up control of your life. With the right support, older people can continue living independently in the place they call home, making their own choices, keeping their routines, and staying connected to the things that matter most.

At Stacey's Golden Friends, we believe that independent living is about so much more than staying at home. It's about maintaining dignity, confidence, and a sense of purpose.

When older people receive the right level of support, they can continue to:

Make their own decisions and stay in control of their daily lives.
Plan, organise, and think for themselves, helping to keep their minds active and engaged.
Feel like an active part of their own life, rather than feeling life is happening around them.
Build confidence by doing what they can independently, without unnecessary pressure or worry.
Enjoy improved wellbeing through familiar surroundings, meaningful routines, and greater peace of mind.

A little support can make a big difference, helping people remain independent while knowing someone is there when they need a helping hand.

Because independence isn't about doing everything alone. It's about having the freedom to live life your way.
