🌑 New Moon in Oak

Tonight the new moon is here, and it is closer to the earth than most. A supermoon, dark and quiet and pulling at something deep in the bones. The sky is still. The ground feels alive beneath it.

This New Moon falls in Ta**us, the sign of foundations, of the earth, of everything real and lasting and worth building toward. Look west as the light fades tonight, and you will see Venus blazing there, bright and unhesitating, with Jupiter shining just above her. The two brightest planets in the sky, drawing closer to each other night by night. Love and abundance leaning together. This is not a small moment.

Oak stands with you tonight. The mightiest tree on the Living Path, the keeper of wisdom, the tree beneath which oaths were sworn and futures were shaped. Oak does not grow in a season. It grows over centuries. And every one of those centuries begins with a single intention.

The dog steps forward as your companion. The first animal to choose to walk beside us, freely and out of love. A dog is loyalty, unconditional love, and the reminder that the life you are building must be rooted in what you truly value. It asks you to go beyond your comfort zone, to trust the path ahead, and to know, without question, that you are loved.

🌕 Full Moon in Hawthorn

Tonight the Full Moon rises in Hawthorn, and the timing could not be more alive. This is the beginning of May, the turning point when the light fully returns and the world opens into the warmth and abundance of the growing season. Hawthorn has always been the keeper of this moment.

Hawthorn is a portal tree. In the old traditions she was found growing alone beside the sacred wells and ancient springs, marking the places where the seen and the unseen are closest together. She does not guard these thresholds to keep you out. She guards them to keep what is precious safe until the right moment arrives. Under this Full Moon, the right moment is here.

The blackbird steps forward as a companion for this moon. Of all the birds in the garden, Blackbird is the one who leads the dawn chorus, who takes the darkness and turns it into song. The medicine bird. The shaman. He carries the night in his black feathers and the promise of new growth in their green sheen. His orange beak is the colour of the sacral chakra, of desire and creativity and the need to love and be loved.

Blackbird has been singing to the poets and the bards and the druids for more than two thousand years. He understands the darkness before the dawn better than most. And he sings anyway, with a calm and unhurried certainty that the light is coming. Tonight he sings for you.
