A fantastic day spent with the brilliant Catering Team at Dean Close School!

From choking scenarios and severe bleeding to burns, bandaging and CPR, everyone got fully involved in a hands-on day of learning.

First aid isn't just about ticking a box—it's about having the confidence to step in when someone needs you most.

Thank you all for your enthusiasm, willingness to get stuck in (literally! 😄) and for making the day so enjoyable.

Hopefully you'll never need to use these skills... but if you do, you'll be ready.

Epileptic seizures.
They’ve had name changes over the years, whether you know it as grand mal or tonic clonic, or petit mal or focal seizure- would you know what to do?

I saw this great poster today that shows the different stages a person goes through when having their seizure.

What do you think?

We cover seizures in our full first aid at work course and in our paediatric course we also talk about convulsions in babies.

New guidelines are out from the European Resuscitation Council today.

While core practices remain unchanged, infant CPR gets an update:
The 2-thumb encircling technique now replaces the old 2-finger and chest thrust method.

👏👏A HUGE thank you to the amazing teams at Steppes Travel and CCS Sharks Rugby for welcoming me in to deliver lifesaving CPR and first aid training recently.

It is fantastic to see companies/clubs taking real steps to create safer workplaces because emergencies can happen anywhere!
