A couple of weeks ago I attended the Women’s Health Roadshow in Crewe, Cheshire… and I haven’t stopped thinking about the conversations I had 💭

I spoke to over 30 women. All ages. All different stories.
And every single one said the same thing menopause cafés are a lifeline ❤️

Women in their 20s were asking,
“How do we prepare?”
“How do we learn about this before it hits us?”

Women in their late 30s and early 40s told me they were already experiencing symptoms but felt dismissed or not taken seriously by their GP.

Some felt pressured into HRT.
Others were desperate to try it but couldn’t.

One conversation really broke me.
A woman in her early 30s going through menopause, feeling completely lost.
And it hit me ten years on from my own experience, young women are still feeling alone.

I also met women who had been through cancer treatment, left with sudden menopause symptoms, unable to take HRT, and with little to no support 😢

There is still such a gap.
In education.
In support.
In understanding.

But what gave me hope?
The power of women talking. Sharing. Listening. Holding space for each other.

That’s why these cafés matter.
That’s why community matters.

And that’s why Lisa S Moss and I will keep showing up ❤️

✨ Face to Face Menopause Café Updates ✨

Just a little update to keep everyone in the loop ….

Lisa & Natalie are currently busy behind the scenes exploring potential funding to bring back the face-to-face Menopause Cafés around Spring next year 🌸

They’re also looking at organising some fundraising activities to help cover costs such as venues, public liability insurance, and other essentials.

💻 Online Menopause Café
In the meantime, the online Menopause Café is still running and takes place every second Wednesday of the month at 7pm.
The joining link will be advertised on the page each month.

👭 Private Support Group
Don’t forget, there is also the private Facebook group Cheshire Menopause Support Group, which you’re very welcome to join for ongoing support and chat.

Thank you as always for your continued support 💜

💛 ANNOUNCEMENT 💛

We’re really sorry to say that we’re pausing our FACE-TO-FACE Menopause Cafés for now.

Lisa started the cafés back in 2021 in Macclesfield, with the very first one at The Shamrock, then Macclesfield Community Centre, before finding our lovely regular home at Macclesfield Leisure Centre where I (Natalie) joined her as co-facilitator. We then started our Sandbach cafe back in September last year.

We’ve been so grateful to host the café for free at the leisure centre (even drinks included!) for several years. Sadly, with the heat in the room and parking issues, we moved to The Weston Hub on Gilchrist Avenue, kindly donated by Heather.

Over the years, we’ve volunteered all our time and personally covered printing and refreshment costs. We’ve been lucky to have health professionals give their time too before the cafes.

Both of us have had really tough menopause journeys, and our goal has always been to support other women through theirs. 💪💛

The good news is we’re not disappearing!
Our ONLINE Menopause Café will still be running and anyone can attend.
We hope to be back in person next year once we can secure some funding to keep going.

Please keep connecting through Cheshire Menopause Support Group. We’ll still share info, resources, and online café dates in this group and here on our page.

Thank you so much for all your support, kindness, and attendance over the years. We can’t wait to see you again face-to-face soon.

With love,
Lisa & Natalie 💛

📣 Important Announcement – Sandbach Menopause Café

Sadly, we’re unable to run the Sandbach Menopause Café until further notice. The charity that kindly funded our insurance can no longer cover our costs, and unfortunately I’m not in a position to personally finance the public liability insurance needed to remain at Union Street Community Centre.

If anyone knows of, or can offer, a free and confidential space where we could continue to hold our evening gatherings without the need for public liability insurance, I would be truly grateful. Confidentiality is really important so that everyone attending feels safe and supported.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has attended so far and for all the encouragement and kindness shown it really means so much. 💜

Natalie x
