A couple of weeks ago I attended the Women’s Health Roadshow in Crewe, Cheshire… and I haven’t stopped thinking about the conversations I had 💭
I spoke to over 30 women. All ages. All different stories.
And every single one said the same thing menopause cafés are a lifeline ❤️
Women in their 20s were asking,
“How do we prepare?”
“How do we learn about this before it hits us?”
Women in their late 30s and early 40s told me they were already experiencing symptoms but felt dismissed or not taken seriously by their GP.
Some felt pressured into HRT.
Others were desperate to try it but couldn’t.
One conversation really broke me.
A woman in her early 30s going through menopause, feeling completely lost.
And it hit me ten years on from my own experience, young women are still feeling alone.
I also met women who had been through cancer treatment, left with sudden menopause symptoms, unable to take HRT, and with little to no support 😢
There is still such a gap.
In education.
In support.
In understanding.
But what gave me hope?
The power of women talking. Sharing. Listening. Holding space for each other.
That’s why these cafés matter.
That’s why community matters.
And that’s why Lisa S Moss and I will keep showing up ❤️
