The anxious mind is looking for evidence and certainty but sometimes it will find it in imagined scenarios. 🧠

For example.... ⬇️ (save as a reminder to you)

You're off out for a good night out, there's an alleyway your need to go through......

Your anxious brain might see a dark green snake in that alleyway and experience intense fear...... you're not walking down there are you?

But what if that dark green snake was actually just a discarded hosepipe? 🤔 what if the mind has created threat when there isn't any?

Avoidance is keeping us stuck. Whilst we don't need to start wrestling snakes, we do have to work with them. Real or imagined. 😉

*** Trigger warning, dementia chat.

I shared this yesterday..... then thought maybe I shouldn't....then I thought no actually, it's important to share these things.
It's important for people to know they don't have to be a bad ass strong b*tch all the time 😉🫶

Dementia is like losing someone over and over again. To miss someone even though they are right there in front of you.

Anticipatory grief is a process, this is your process. No one else will experience this exactly the same as you.

I have many clients that come to me dealing with loved one's with dementia. The toll it takes on your life, your anxiety and overall it's really hard to navigate.

For me it's even more important to look for good bits inbetween those hard ones. To be a little kinder with the words I speak to myself.

I think it's so important to talk about it.
To have a supportive ear when I need it.
Talking helps me process, but also not to completely lose myself in it.

It's not talked about enough.

It's not talked about how carers struggle or how families deal with the guilt of having a loved one in a home.
It's not talked about how many sleepless nights are spent worrying.
It's not talked about how people might struggle to cope.
It's not talked about how people are just expected to get on with it.

You're not 'just an anxious person'.
You weren't 'born this way'....you are allowed to feel safe in your body.
To choose even if, instead of what if.

There are many heavy things that happen to us in life that we understandably start to protect ourselves a bit more.
We might avoid things, create ways to predict certainty or become completely wrapped up in anxious thoughts.

You are protecting yourself, and it's normal.
But maybe carrying all that heaviness is starting to feel like a tonne weight.

Is it time to put it down and try something different?

I am currently in the process of opening my space to step into something a little different.....

Whilst Hypnotherapy is my main therapy, I also want to expand and grow into a complete healing space for everyone.

Many of my clients with anxiety don't feel safe enough in their body to feel safe to make those necessary changes, so it can be a complete healing experience.

🙏 For when you feel you're not quite ready to step into neuroscience or learn about your brain.

✨️For when you just feel like you want to relax, not talk and clear that stuck feeling in your body.

There is a part of me that has always felt things a little deeper, a little louder and a little stronger....and it's something I'm exploring a little bit more.

Fully stepping into my woo 😉

But seriously.... Energy is such an incredibly powerful thing and we are all connected to it.

So... in the next few months I'll also be offering a space to clear some of that stuck energy in your body, things that maybe you have been holding on to and that you're ready to let go of.
