Thursday evening was working towards the feeding badge with Emma from TopSpec. We weighed some ponies and had a competition to see who could guess the most accurate weight!

On Wednesday evening at camp we were joined by two lovely ladies who both work within the equine industry. We thought it would be beneficial for the children to learn about what jobs are available within the equine industry that is a little less hands on! Our first guest, former member Jemima works for a company called hpower, who are the driving force behind The London International Horse Show and Royal Windsor Horse Show Jemima gave us a super insight into what goes on behind the scenes to organise such enormous events!

Our second speaker was Charlotte, who is the training lead for LeMieux. Charlotte told us all about how the company started and talked us through to the growth of the business to where it is today. We of course discussed all the matchy sets and everyone’s favourite colours - teal I think being the most requested colour to make a come back 😉

Another thank you post 🙏 As Goodwood is a working racecourse yard, bio security is incredibly important, all ponies entering the yard MUST be up to date with vaccinations and have been vaccinated within the last 6 months. We checked every passport meticulously prior to camp but also had Eddy Williams from Focused Equine - Williams Vets here on Sunday to check everyone before they came in. Eddy then came back later in the week to do a talk on vaccinations and bio security. Focused equine also kindly sponsored a jump on our XC course.

Today we waved goodbye to our minis, but the rest of us still have 2 days of camp! We will see them again on Saturday for prize giving and camp party!!

We must say an enormous thank you to all the wonderful companies who have supported us this year. Your support and generosity is so appreciated.

A Goodwood pony club camp is really quite a unique experience, the location is second to none, we are incredibly greatful to his and her Graces, the Duke and Duchess of Richmond for allowing us to move in for the week, year after year. Our list of thank yous is long…too long infact to include all in one post!
