Well, tonight’s yoga class was certainly one to remember… 😬

Yesterday’s forecast: 30°C and sunshine. Perfect.

I let everyone know we’d be outside, reminding them to bring water, sun cream, etc and planning out a nice shady spot for us.

Fast forward 24 hours and apparently the weather had other plans.

Normally checking the forecast a day in advance is enough… not today! šŸ˜‚

The sky was looking a little grey, but nothing that seemed too concerning, so there I was opening the class with a little mindfulness, encouraging everyone to embrace the outdoors and allow for things as they are…

And then the heavens OPENED.

Turns out there’s a point where acceptance of a little rain becomes ā€œwe literally can’t see anything.ā€

Outdoor yoga was swiftly upgraded to extreme weather yoga, followed shortly by a tactical retreat.

The pose of the evening was mostly ā€œrunning for cover.ā€ šŸ˜…

And now, after tonight’s monsoon yoga, I’m due to teach again tomorrow and the next day in what’s forecast to be a heatwave. I think I’ll pack wellies and a waterproof just in case. šŸ˜‰

Booking is now open for summer classes! ā˜€ļø

Over the summer holidays, I'll be teaching a 5-week block running from the week commencing 27 July through to the week commencing 24 August.

When the weather allows, classes will take place outdoors in nature, with indoor sessions available whenever needed.

Here's hoping for plenty more sunny evenings ahead! All levels are welcome, and I'd love to see you there 🌿

It's also a great time to try out a class if it's something you'd like to start in September!

The seasons are beginning to shift, the air feels crisper, and nature is quietly inviting us to slow down too.

Happy Bank Holiday! ✨

I hope you’re finding a moment to slow down and enjoy a little extra space in your day, whatever that looks like for you.

A little update from me… my summer term yoga classes are now open for booking! ā˜€ļø

This upcoming block runs for 7 weeks, from w/c 1st June through to w/c 13th July - creating space for movement, rest, and a bit of calm amidst busy weeks.

And when the weather is good, we’ll also have the chance to take our practice outside onto the school field! If you haven't experienced this before, you're in for a treat. It makes the sessions feel even more special - grounded, open, and connected to nature.

If you’ve been meaning to come along, or you’re ready to get back into a rhythm, this is a lovely time to join!

Today is 🌿

When people think of meditation, they often picture stillness - sitting quietly, eyes closed, focusing on the breath.

But meditation can take many forms.

For me, one of the most unexpected places I find it… is in painting.

Yes - did you know I’m also an artist?

When I paint, I drop into the same state I aim to guide others toward in yoga: presence, awareness, and a gentle letting go of everything else.

I feel as though yoga deepens my art practice - teaching me patience, acceptance, and how to stay with what is, rather than rushing to fix it.

And in turn, art reminds me that meditation doesn’t have to be perfect or still. It can be expressive, messy, and alive!

If you’re someone who struggles to ā€œsit still and meditate,ā€ maybe your meditation is already waiting for you in something you love!

The best part of teaching yoga?

For me, it has nothing to do with the poses… and everything to do with the people.

It sounds cheesy, but hand on heart, the highlight of teaching yoga for me is you guys. The laughs, the conversations, the community aspect of it.

I often think that in-person connection is just as valuable as the practice itself.

For many of us, especially if we work from home, that sense of connection can be missing more than we realise. And I see it all the time: friendships forming, conversations flowing, people arriving for yoga and staying for the sense of belonging too.

After Covid, when we were able to return to in-person classes, I remember asking whether people preferred Zoom or coming back to the studio.

There was no hesitation — everyone wanted to be back in the room together. And honestly, so did I.

Even if you come alone, there’s something really special about sharing a space with like-minded people. A space where you can show up as you are, do something just for you, and always leave feeling better than when you arrived.

It’s a real privilege to be able to hold that space.

Oh how I love park yoga season! šŸ’š

Even when it’s a little on the chilly side like today, it’s so good to have so many people turn up to move and breathe in a shared space, outside in nature.

Carving out that time to do something for ourselves makes such a difference to our well-being - the perfect way to start a Sunday.

Thank you to everyone who joined me this morning, it was so lovely to have you there!

I’m a yoga teacher… so I must be calm all the time, right?

Wrong!

We’re all human — with busy minds, stress, and emotional ups and downs just like everyone else.

The truth is, we can’t stop every difficult thought from arising — but we can learn tools that help us relate to them differently.

Yoga. Meditation. Mindfulness. Time in nature. Anything that brings us back to the present moment.

Because when we’re present, there’s less space for spiralling thoughts, overthinking, and worry. Our mind gets a chance to soften and breathe.

I remember a time before I started yoga when I didn’t realise there was another way to feel — I thought a constant level of stress was normal!

Practising yoga and meditation opened something completely different for me: a sense of lightness, clarity, and space that I now do my best to share this through teaching.

What if your mind needed yoga as much as your body does?

Mental Health Awareness Week is a gentle reminder of just how important it is to look after our mental wellbeing in everyday life — not just when things feel difficult.

Yoga can offer us SO much when it comes to this.

I think many of us arrive on the mat for the physical side of things first — I know I did — but quite quickly we realise there’s a whole other layer we maybe didn’t expect.

It’s one thing to move through the postures. It’s another to truly sync movement with breath, and stay present enough that everything else starts to fade into the background.

In those moments, there’s a kind of mental spaciousness that’s hard to describe, but deeply felt.

Once you’ve experienced that sense of clarity and stillness, you start to realise just how valuable time on the mat really is.

We all need that space — to slow down, re-centre, and come back to ourselves.

Most people don’t come to yoga for their mental health, but they often stay for exactly that.
