IVF isn’t “just” about getting pregnant 💜

When people think about doulas, they often picture someone supporting labour and birth.

But what many don’t realise is that doula support can begin much earlier.

An IVF journey can be incredibly exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming, emotional and, at times, incredibly lonely.

Appointments.
Blood tests.
Scans.
Medication schedules.
Waiting.
More waiting.
Hope.
Fear.
Excitement.
Disappointment.

It’s a rollercoaster, and you shouldn’t have to navigate it without support.

A doula can’t change the outcome of treatment, and we don’t provide medical advice or replace your fertility team. What we can do is support you.

✨ Offer a listening ear without judgement.
✨ Help you prepare for appointments and think of questions you may want to ask.
✨ Support your emotional wellbeing through the ups and downs.
✨ Help your partner understand how they can support you too.
✨ Create space for rest, self-care and processing the emotions that often accompany fertility treatment.
✨ Be there for you if treatment doesn’t go to plan, as well as celebrating every milestone if it does.

Whether IVF leads to pregnancy straight away, takes several attempts or follows a different path entirely, your feelings are valid.

You deserve compassionate support, whatever your journey looks like.

At Bloom With Jacqueline, I believe every family’s story is unique. Whether you’re trying to conceive, preparing for birth or adjusting to life with your baby, you don’t have to do it alone.

💜 If you’re about to begin IVF or you’re already in the middle of treatment and would like someone in your corner, I’d love to chat.

🌍 World Environment Day

Becoming a parent often makes us think differently about the world we’re leaving for our children.

The truth is, you don’t have to do everything perfectly to make a difference.

One simple swap you could consider is using reusable baby wipes.

💜 They’re soft and gentle on many babies’ skin.
💜 They can reduce household waste.
💜 They often save money over time.
💜 They can be used with just warm water or alongside your preferred baby-safe cleanser.

Of course, reusable wipes aren’t the right choice for every family and that’s absolutely okay. Parenthood is about finding what works for you, not striving for perfection.

Whether you choose reusable wipes, cloth nappies, refillable water bottles, second-hand baby clothes or simply repairing rather than replacing, every small step matters.

Raising children isn’t about creating perfect parents. It’s about creating a world where our children can thrive.

Happy World Environment Day. 🌿

Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. 💜

Soft lighting.

A familiar voice.

Your favourite playlist.

A hand to hold.

A room where you feel safe.

When we’re preparing for birth, we often focus on what we’ll need but we don’t always think about how we want the space to feel.

The truth is, your birth environment matters.

Whether you’re giving birth at home, in a birth centre or in hospital, creating a calm, supportive environment can help you feel more relaxed, more confident and better able to work with your body during labour.

That’s exactly what I’ve written about in my latest blog. I talk about the science behind why your surroundings matter, as well as lots of practical ways you can create a birth space that feels right for you.

I’d love for you to have a read if you’re expecting a baby or know someone who is. 🤍

And I’d love to know, what made you feel safe, calm or supported during your birth?

Seeing that very first ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review appear on my Google Business Profile was a bit of a pinch-me moment.

And what makes it even more special is that it came from my sister.

I had the privilege of supporting her through the birth of my youngest nephew. I wasn’t a qualified doula then, but I was simply there as her sister: offering reassurance, encouragement, practical support and a calm presence throughout her labour.

That experience had a huge impact on me.

It reminded me just how powerful it is to have someone by your side who is there purely for you. Someone who believes in you, helps you feel safe, and quietly supports you through every step.

Reading her words now, as a qualified doula, means more than I can put into words. Knowing she felt supported, cared for and calmer because I was there is exactly why I do what I do.

Every family deserves to feel heard, supported and never alone during pregnancy, birth and those early days afterwards.

Thank you, Rebecca, for trusting me during such a special moment in your life, and for taking the time to leave my very first review. It will always have a special place in my heart. 💜

This World Breastfeeding Week, I’d like to celebrate every family feeding their baby with love.

Breastfeeding can be a beautiful experience, but it can also be incredibly challenging. For some families it isn’t possible, and for others, combination or formula feeding is the right choice.

As a doula, my role isn’t to judge how you feed your baby, it’s to support you with evidence-based information, compassionate care and encouragement, whatever your journey looks like.

Because fed, loved and supported babies thrive and so do supported parents. 💜

Happy World Breastfeeding Week to every parent doing their very best. You’re doing an amazing job.

Nineteen years ago today, my life changed forever.

Before he arrived, I could only imagine what it might feel like to become a mum. People told me I’d never know love like it, but nothing could have prepared me for just how true those words were.

My eldest son didn’t just enter the world that day, he introduced me to a version of myself I’d never known before.

He taught me patience, resilience and unconditional love. He taught me that sleep would become a luxury, that worrying starts the moment you become a parent and never really stops, and that your heart can somehow exist both inside your chest and out walking around in someone else.

Being the firstborn comes with its own kind of magic. Every milestone was a first for both of us. We learned together, grew together and stumbled through motherhood and childhood side by side.

Nineteen years later, I look at him and feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude.

He’s grown into a kind, funny and passionate young man with a good heart and a bright future ahead of him. Seeing him find his own way in the world has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

People often say that parents raise their children, but I think our children raise us too. They shape us, challenge us and help us become the people we’re meant to be.

My eldest son did exactly that.

Happy 19th Birthday to the boy who made me a mum. Thank you for the countless memories, the lessons, the laughter and for giving me the greatest title I’ll ever have.

I couldn’t be prouder. 💜
