Plot twist! There are two new residents at Yate Library… and they’re looking a little too pleased with themselves! 😜

Made by our talented Abbeyfield residents, these two cheeky characters have been given a temporary home at Yate Library, thanks to the lovely library team. 💜

Pop in, say hello and get a selfie with them!

There’s just one problem… they need names.

Scarey McScarecrowface has already been taken (obviously 🙄), so what would you call these two?

A little Abbeyfield discovery…

We’ve always known that Abbeyfield Chipping Sodbury resident Maureen lived in Greece for several years and had written a guide to life there. What we didn’t know was that she has had several books published! ✨

While living in Greece, Maureen had a friend who was a publisher. He read her guide to living in Greece and was so impressed — particularly as Maureen had created all the illustrations herself. 🎨

He asked her if she had written anything else… or could write any more...and so she did!

We love discovering these hidden talents and stories among our residents. There’s always more to learn about the people who make up our Abbeyfield communities. 💜

We're looking for people with a couple of hours a month to spare who'd like to make a real difference by becoming a Trustee.

Could you help shape the future of Abbeyfield Wessex? 💜

We’re looking for two new volunteer Trustees to join our Board and help us build a strong and sustainable future for our charity and the older people we serve.

Abbeyfield Wessex provides independent living accommodation across 13 houses in the Wessex region, helping older people stay independent while enjoying the companionship, community and support that Abbeyfield provides.

We’re particularly interested in hearing from people with financial expertise, legal experience and/or knowledge of regulation in the social housing sector. We’re also keen to create a more diverse Board and welcome people who can bring different perspectives, experience and ideas.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to use your skills and experience to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
