🌱 Children don't always have the words to explain how they're feeling.

Sometimes emotions show up as: • Changes in behaviour • Difficulty sleeping • Withdrawal from friends • Increased anger or frustration • School-related worries

Counselling gives children and young people a safe space to express themselves, build confidence, and process difficult emotions.

Every young person deserves to feel heard.

✨ Anxiety doesn't always look like panic.

Sometimes it looks like: • Overthinking conversations • Struggling to switch off • Feeling tired all the time • Saying "I'm fine" when you're not • Constantly expecting the worst

If this feels familiar, you're not alone.

Counselling can provide a safe, confidential space to understand what's beneath the anxiety and develop healthier ways of coping.

Week 2: Building Familiarity
Small steps can help big changes feel more manageable ✨
If you can, try travelling the route to the new school together or looking at it online. Even small pieces of familiarity can make a difference.
When something feels known, it can feel a little less overwhelming—and a little safer to step into.

Week 1: Starting the Conversation

Starting secondary school can feel like a big step—for children and parents 🤍
One of the simplest ways to support your child is to create space for open conversations.
Ask gentle questions like:
✨ “What are you looking forward to?”
✨ “Is there anything you’re unsure about?”
Listening without rushing in to fix can help your child feel really heard.
Sometimes it’s less about the answers, and more about knowing their feelings have a place with you.

Starting secondary school is a big transition—for children and parents 🤍

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing some gentle ideas and reflections to help you support your child as they prepare for this next step.
There’s no perfect way to navigate change—but small, thoughtful moments of connection can make a real difference.
A space to pause, reflect, and feel a little more supported along the way. ✨

Sometimes what people need most is simply a safe space to talk.
Friends and family can be incredibly supportive, but it can feel difficult to be completely open with the people closest to us.
Counselling provides a confidential space where you can:
• Speak freely
• Explore your feelings
• Gain clarity
• Feel understood
• Work through challenges at your own pace
You don't need to have all the answers before reaching out.
Sometimes the journey starts with a simple message.
If you're considering counselling and would like to find out more, I'd be happy to hear from you.

A quick anxiety check-in.
Have you noticed yourself:
□ Overthinking conversations after they've happened?
□ Feeling constantly on edge?
□ Struggling to switch off?
□ Finding it difficult to sleep?
□ Worrying about things outside your control?
Anxiety can show up in many different ways, and often becomes so familiar that we stop recognising how much it's affecting us.
Counselling can help you understand what's driving your anxiety and develop tools to manage it more effectively.
If any of these resonate with you, it may be worth having a conversation.

You Don't Have to Keep Coping Alone

Just because you're managing doesn't mean you're not struggling.
Many people wait until they feel completely overwhelmed before reaching out for support.
But counselling isn't only for crises.
It's a space to:
✨ Understand your thoughts and emotions
✨ Build healthier coping strategies
✨ Improve relationships
✨ Feel heard without judgement
If you've been carrying the weight of anxiety, stress, low mood, grief, or life changes on your own, you don't have to continue alone.
Taking the first step can feel daunting, but it's often the beginning of positive change.
