Is it normal to need help or reassurance?

To get a deeper latch, bring baby to the breast, not breast to baby.

It sounds simple, we know, but it makes a huge difference!

Support baby close to you, wait for a wide open mouth (think yawn), then gently guide baby on.

If it feels painful, it’s ok to break the latch and try again. You’re not failing and you’re not annoying your baby. You’re learning together 💜

Babies are born with reflexes to help them latch.

Rooting, opening their mouth wide, and sucking are all automatic reflexes. Sometimes we just need to give them the time and positioning to let those reflexes kick in.

A sleepy baby, a fast letdown, a tongue tie or a tricky birth can all affect latch in the early days, but none mean breastfeeding won’t work with a little support 💜

Yes, absolutely 💜

Some babies show feeding cues very frequently, especially:
✨ In the evenings
✨ During growth spurts
✨ When they’re tired or overwhelmed
✨ When they need comfort as well as milk

Feeding isn’t just about hunger. It’s also about regulation, closeness and feeling safe.
