Incredible day at the House of Lords & truly an honour to share our work the last years bringing supervision in education to educational settings; to better support children and the relationship between them and educators - through supervision. To support the culture of settings.

Being invited by IRCT was a call to speak about our "why". Talking Heads Supervision was established to better support children and young people and particularly those growing up in adult complexity and distress.

Today we spoke at the House of Lords about our work over the last 8 years establishing supervision in education for senior leaders and then embedding it into the whole setting.

We now support over 600 leaders in monthly supervision. Supporting and safeguarding both them and their well-being and the children/young people in their school.

We support children by interrupting the education system and slowing it down. Inviting reflection, feelings from senior leaders when they have nowhere else to take it. Supervision helps them make sense each of month of what they are carrying - so they can continue to carry it.

So they can meet the emotional demands and professional expectations of those around them - we have to offer some support to our senior leaders. This impacts over time, the entire culture of a setting.

It was incredible to be among other passionate colleagues and think together about impact.

Being invited by the Institute of Recovery from Childhood Trauma was a call to our why.

Talking Heads Supervision was established to systemically support all the children I have worked with the last 30 years- the other way round.

This wonderful book arrived today and I was delighted to speak.as part of a wonderful panel at its launch.

Amy Sayer has wriiten a wonderfully practical book based on experience, theory and into practice.

Literally she gives guidance and prompts thinking, step by step around how to establish a meaningful mental health curriculum.

A culture.

Supervision is the part of the jigsaw that completes that as when dealing with the complexity of humans we need a space to then untangle ourselves to keep being able to do it for others.
