We walk with our families - good days and bad. 💙

Last month we shared that many people diagnosed with dementia are being sent home with nothing more than a leaflet.

In response, hundreds of you shared your stories with us.

This is the reality that people affected by dementia are facing today:

‘Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. You've got dementia, have a leaflet. Go away and get on with it basically. No check ins, no follow ups, no help until you're at CRISIS point.’

‘No support when hubby was diagnosed. No support when things got worse. I was left struggling seeing him decline and also struggling financially.’

‘I asked the doctor, “What can I do?” Her words were, “Nothing, go home and have a stress-free life.” Her words have never left me.’

‘The lack of support, just being given a leaflet and sent on our way from the memory clinic, did not prepare my family for what was to come.'

‘Never mind a leaflet, we were given the diagnosis by a letter in the post!’

Everyone affected by dementia deserves better than this.
