As we approach the longest day, it's an opportunity to pause and reflect on what we want to leave behind and to remember what matters.

The Year of the Fire Horse sure has been interesting so far and it certainly feels like time has raced by! I can feel the frenetic energy of the past few months beginning to shift to a slower pace at last.

It has been wonderful to have Macaroon and Biscotti back in my life and I continue to be amazed by their insights and the life lessons they offer. I look forward to sharing many more moments of magic with them and my clients and also to expanding my work to include the herd of Welsh ponies at the Royal Agricultural University.

This offers me an opportunity to work with larger groups, which will include schools and businesses. I will be bringing my experience of the corporate world (I ran a marketing agency for 20 years!) and also my training as an Equine Facilitated Learning practitioner, Embodied therapist and Counsellor.

In addition, what I refer to as the "spiritual" side of my work - the Reiki healing, animal communication and Shamanic practice - remains of great importance to me and I will continue to run workshops that focus on our relationship and encounters with the natural world.

So lovely to witness the playful connection between these two πŸ’– When a horse is given the freedom to choose and it chooses to be with you, it feels like pure magic ✨

I'm very excited to be working with the Royal Agricultural University and their charming herd of Welsh ponies πŸ₯°

Come and join us for a magical Midsummer celebration this Friday. We will be offering you guided meditation, embodied therapy and connecting with the ponies using energy and breath work. This is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself and enjoy some mindful moments in nature with the support of an experienced therapist.

It is the first of a series of wellbeing events we'll be running for adults and young people. One-to-one sessions will be available too.

Feeling very blessed to have had the opportunity to hold space for some lovely people this afternoon. Macaroon and Biscotti offered some powerful and very moving healing and the sun smiled down on us, while goldfinches danced along the fence line. It all added to a restful and restorative time πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’–βœ¨

Grateful to have such a lovely space to work in and looking forward to our next workshop πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’–

We've been exploring different ways to enrich the ponies' environment. Providing stimulating activities and new experiences prevents boredom and encourages learning.

What do you like to have in your environment to enrich your life? My favourites are scented candles, plants, natural light, colourful fabrics and instrumental music. These elements make me feel calm, grounded and allow creativity to flow.

I spent the weekend in London, continuing my training in Embodied Psychotherapy. I have found this work to be extremely helpful for clients who suffer from trauma.

Trauma can show up in the body in so many ways:
❗️Feeling numb (freeze response)
❗️PTSD: flashbacks, angry outbursts, risky behaviour, recurring nightmares (fight/flight response)
❗️Meltdowns, overwhelm, relationship breakdowns and suicidal ideation

Embodied therapy is a holistic approach that tunes into the wisdom of our bodies and helps to unlock the energy which becomes trapped during traumatic experiences and causes dis-ease, illness and mental health problems.

For professionals working with mental health, frontline workers and carers, the sympathetic nervous system can be constantly triggered, making it difficult to activate the parasympathetic nervous system which enables a state of "rest and digest".

In my forthcoming workshop, "Holding Space", I'll be sharing ways for you to re-set your nervous system and support your body to release some of that stress. We'll have the help of two beautiful equine souls who have been on a healing journey of their own πŸ’–
