Dry, cracked heels? The right foot cream makes all the difference.

We often recommend urea-based creams to help hydrate dry skin, soften hard skin and support healthier feet.

⭐ 10% urea: ideal for daily moisturising
⭐ 25% urea: suitable for thicker, drier skin and cracked heels

Some of our go-to options include CCS Foot Care Cream, Flexitol Heel Balm and Gehwol med Lipidro Cream.

Heel pain isn’t always caused by the heel itself.

Poor foot mechanics, reduced shock absorption, and changes in the way your foot moves can increase strain on the heel, ankle, knees, and lower back.

Orthotic devices are designed to improve support, redistribute pressure, and optimise foot function based on your individual needs.

Understanding the cause of your symptoms is the first step towards effective treatment.

If foot pain is affecting your daily activities, a professional foot health assessment can help identify what’s contributing to the problem.

Many patients tell us they soak their feet at home before attending their appointments, believing it helps prepare them for treatment.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing a dedicated Foot Soak Corner within the clinic, allowing you to safely soften and cleanse your feet using practitioner-approved products before selected treatments.

Why is this beneficial?

βœ”οΈ Helps cleanse the skin and nails prior to treatment

βœ”οΈ Softens superficial hard skin and debris, which may improve comfort during certain procedures

βœ”οΈ Supports the removal of nail products, dirt, and surface contaminants

βœ”οΈ Provides a relaxing start to your appointment experience

Our soaks will use clinically approved products selected specifically for foot health, with hygiene and infection prevention protocols followed at every appointment.

Please note: Foot soaking is not suitable for everyone. Patients with certain medical conditions, including open wounds, active infections, reduced sensation, or specific circulatory concerns, may be advised against soaking. Your practitioner will assess suitability on an individual basis.

We’re looking forward to sharing this new addition with you soon.

We’re pleased to introduce Laser Light Therapy as part of our treatment options for fungal nail infections.

Fungal nails (onychomycosis) can be difficult to treat and often require a combination of approaches to achieve the best results.

Laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted light energy to pe*****te the nail plate and create an environment that may help reduce fungal activity.

Potential benefits include:

βœ”οΈ No downtime following treatment
βœ”οΈ No need for oral antifungal medication for suitable patients
βœ”οΈ Comfortable, in-clinic sessions
βœ”οΈ Can be used alongside topical treatments and professional nail care

It’s important to understand that fungal nail infections are often persistent, and improvement takes time. Toenails grow slowly, so visible changes may not be seen for several months while healthy nail gradually grows through.

Multiple sessions are usually recommended, and maintaining good foot hygiene, appropriate footwear, and following home care advice are essential to maximise results.

If you’re concerned about a fungal nail infection and would like to explore your treatment options, contact us to arrange an assessment.

πŸ‘£ What is a verruca?

A verruca is a wart that develops on the sole of the foot and is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). They can appear as small, rough areas of skin and may have tiny black dots in the centre, which are small blood vessels.

Verrucas can affect both children and adults and, while some resolve on their own, others can become painful, spread or persist for months or even years.

Treatment options vary depending on the size, location and duration of the verruca, as well as your age and lifestyle.

We offer verruca assessments and treatment for both children and adults πŸ‘£

If you have a verruca that is causing discomfort or not improving, get in touch to book an appointment πŸ“ž

Ever wondered how nail reconstruction is done?

Here’s a look at the technique used to create a natural-looking nail for damaged, thickened or partially missing toenails.

Nail reconstruction is a cosmetic procedure using a specialist gel that is carefully applied and shaped to resemble a natural nail while the underlying nail continues to grow.

To keep it looking its best, maintenance is usually recommended every 6–8 weeks, although this can vary depending on nail growth, activity levels and the condition of the nail.

What is a callus?

A callus is an area of thickened skin that develops in response to repeated pressure or friction. It’s the body’s way of protecting itself, but when calluses become too thick, they can cause discomfort and sometimes even pain.

Common causes include:
β€’ Ill-fitting footwear πŸ‘Ÿ
β€’ Changes in foot shape
β€’ High-pressure areas when walking
β€’ Spending long periods on your feet

While moisturising can help keep the skin supple, it won’t remove the underlying cause of the callus. Identifying and addressing the source of pressure is often the most effective long-term approach.
