The 10th of May was meant to be the Leeds Half Marathon for Charlie and I… but sometimes the most important decision is knowing when not to push through. 🙅‍♀️

A chesty cough meant it was the right call to sit this one out and listen to my body instead. 😷 As frustrating as it is to miss an event you’ve trained for, recovery and long-term health always come first.

At Wetherby Physiotherapy Practice, we often talk to patients about the importance of respecting what your body is telling you — whether that’s during training, rehab, or everyday life. Rest isn’t weakness; it’s part of the process.

There’ll always be another race 🏃‍♂️💙

Just over 4 weeks to go! ⏳🏃‍♂️

Hello, it’s Grace here! I just wanted to chat marathons/half marathons as it’s that time of year! Our countdown to the Leeds Half Marathon is officially on! Training is in full swing, and it’s safe to say the miles are adding up.

As a physio, I’m always reminding patients about the importance of balance in training - but it’s just as important to practice what you preach! That means mixing runs with strength work, rest days, and listening to your body.

Training with my fiancé, Charlie, has definitely kept me accountable (and made the long runs a lot more enjoyable too!).

If you’re gearing up for a race or just getting into running, don’t let injuries hold you back - early advice can make all the difference.

Wetherby Physiotherapy on tour! 🎶🎤

This month Nora delivered a talk to the gentlemen from Clifford Daytones Music Group. Her theme was living longer and happier through improved posture, balance and mobility. Providing the members with advice on stretch and strengthening exercises.

Proving that you can teach old dogs new tricks, her talk was so well received she has been asked to do another! 🥳

Physiotherapy is not only about treatment and recovery, but more importantly, about prevention of health problems and injury. 🙏
