Hi, I’m Cristina, a qualified counsellor supporting adults on their personal growth and wellbeing journey while navigating life’s challenges (from anxiety and stress to relationships, parenting, grief and more).

Men’s Health Week

A gentle reminder that you don’t have to wait until things feel overwhelming before reaching out for support.

Many men grow up with messages about being strong, coping alone or keeping difficult feelings to themselves. But mental health challenges can affect anyone and talking about what’s going on can feel uncomfortable at first.

Whether you’re feeling stressed, stuck, anxious, low or simply carrying more than usual, you don’t have to navigate it all on your own.

This Men’s Health Week, take a moment to check in with yourself and the men in your life. Sometimes a simple conversation can make all the difference.

💬 Conversation matters
🧠 Mental health matters
🤝 Support matters

Men’s Health Week 💚
Myths vs facts about men’s mental health

Not every struggle is visible.
And not every silence means nothing is wrong.

Talking isn’t always easy and not everyone has had space to do it safely.

But that can change.
One conversation. One check-in. One person who listens properly.

Small conversations can change everything.

🌿 Saturday Reminder

You don’t have to spend your weekend catching up on everything you didn’t get done this week.
You don’t have to earn your rest.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is slow down, take a breath and give yourself permission to simply be.
Take care of yourself today in whatever way feels possible.

What is one small act of kindness you can offer yourself this weekend? 💚

Thoughtful Thursday 🌿

Some people come to counselling with clear goals and others simply knowing they want something to feel different.

There is no “right” way to begin.

You do not need to have the “right words”, a perfect plan or everything figured out before you start.

Sometimes, you simply arrive as you are and that is enough.

As a person-centred counsellor, my role is not to tell you what to do. You are the expert in your own life. I am here to listen without judgment, understand and walk alongside you as things start to make sense.

A gentle reminder:

You do not have to carry it all alone.
You do not have to have all the answers yet.

💭 What if being heard is the first step towards clarity?

04/06/2026

Something I often notice in my work is how we can be far harder on ourselves than we realise, and I often wish people would ask themselves this:

If I treated myself with the same kindness I show other people… what would I notice?

There is no right or wrong answer, just whatever comes up for you. 💭

Being self-aware doesn’t always mean knowing how to break the cycle.

Many people understand where their anxiety, burnout, attachment wounds or emotional reactions come from and still find themselves struggling with them.

Insight alone doesn’t automatically change nervous system patterns, habits or coping responses built over time.

Awareness is often the first step toward change.

My Coping Tips for Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

A few gentle reminders that help me and may help you too:

• Take things one step at a time
• Spend time outside, even briefly
• Rest without guilt
• Talk to someone you trust
• Notice your self-talk and soften it
• Remember that difficult feelings do pass

You do not have to navigate everything alone.

Sometimes the smallest acts of care can make the biggest difference. 🌿

Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

A reminder that your mental health matters every day, not just during awareness week.
You don’t have to “have it all together” to deserve support. Rest is valid. Boundaries are healthy. Asking for help is brave.

Be gentle with yourself this week. Small steps still count. 🫶🏼

Today is World Maternal Mental Health Day 🌍💛
This day feels deeply personal to me, as someone who has lived through my own maternal mental health journey.
My path wasn’t the “storybook” version. It involved a difficult birth, medical trauma and the bone-deep exhaustion of that first year. There were breastfeeding challenges and the constant hum of health anxiety in the background.
But most of all, there was isolation…
Navigating these experiences without family close by showed me just how heavy the silence can be. My partner tried his best, but one person cannot be a whole village and that loneliness is hard to explain to anyone who hasn’t been there.
One in five women will experience a mental health problem during pregnancy or in the year after birth. If that’s you right now, I want you to hear this clearly:
There is nothing wrong with you.
You are not failing.
You are not alone.
Reaching out is not a sign of weakness, it’s one of the bravest, most caring things you can do for yourself and your baby.
Be gentle with yourself today. You are doing a better job than you think. 💛

Today, as part of Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week, I am honouring the theme: Voices of Experience. 💛

Every mother’s journey is unique. Every experience matters. And every story shared helps another woman feel a little less alone.

If you have ever struggled with your mental health during pregnancy or after birth, please know that your voice matters. Your experience is valid. Your feelings are not “wrong” and you are not alone.

This week is a powerful reminder that speaking openly about maternal mental health isn’t a sign of weakness, it is one of the bravest and most healing things a mother can do. 🤍

To the mothers currently in the thick of it: I see you, I hear you and I am holding space for you, today and always.
