Bernie's Story 😊
Bernie was admitted to Crewkerne Community Hospital on 20th October for rehabilitation following a neck fracture. He was fitted with a cervical collar (in the acute hospital) to support the healing process. Whilst at Crewkerne, Bernie worked closely with the therapy, nursing, medical, and social care teams to return to independence. Whilst at Crewkerne, Bernie’s primary goal was to return home as independently as possible, with a longer-term aim of resuming driving. Bernie was discharged on 7th November. On discharge, a home visit was completed by the therapy team to support his transition back home, including the provision of new equipment. Bernie has now returned to driving, is mobilising independently without aids, and is able to complete all activities of daily living independently'
It was lovely to see Bernie today and doing so well!'
