A brilliant day spent with the Eastbourne Voluntary Lifeguards, learning lots of new skills, building confidence and, most importantly, having a great time together in some amazing weather! 🏖️🙌

A huge thank you to Ben and Paul from Eastbourne for leading the coaching and sharing their knowledge and experience with everyone, and a thank you to Paula, Auntie Kim and Ben for giving up their time to come along and support the day - it really is appreciated!

A great day, lots learnt, plenty of laughs and memories made! 🌊💙

World Lifesaving championships 2026 🇬🇧🌍🇿🇦

Beacon are proud to report that Alfie has been selected into the GBR Lifesaving team for the upcoming World Lifesaving championships in South Africa!

On top of this he has been selected to be one of the youth captains for the championships.

We are also so proud of Isla who has also been selected as reserve for the team.

This is the first time in the clubs history we have ever had athletes selected for the GBR team and we couldn’t be prouder.

This is such an achievement for our athletes and a fantastic milestone for Beacon.

Congratulations Alfie and Isla - the whole club are behind you!

A great day for Team Beacon at the RLSS UK South East Region Qualifiers! 🏊‍♂️

A huge congratulations to all of our competitors who represented Beacon today. Every one of you should be incredibly proud of your performances.

A special thank you to Bex for your coaching, support, and encouragement throughout the day.

A huge well done to Teddy & Lyra for finishing 2nd in the Open 12–14 age group, and congratulations to Lach & Jack for finishing 2nd in the Senior Male Pair (18–21), securing their place at the RLSS UK National Finals later this year in Birmingham. Fantastic performances from all four competitors!

👏 Congratulations to you all - we're incredibly proud of you and wish Lach & Jack the very best of luck as they prepare to represent Team Beacon at the National Finals!

Harry, Isla and Alfie travelled all the way to Carlyon Bay in Cornwall at the weekend for the GBR Trials. They had a great weekend competing in some new events for them with not a pool to be seen. Huge thanks to Ben for supporting them. Thanks also to and for a great event in glorious sunshine ☀️

Huge congratulations to Marie who recently competed at the Norwegian Nationals! 🇳🇴🏊‍♀️
She came away with a fantastic collection of medals and was incredibly close to breaking several Norwegian National records 👏

We recently competed at the Crawley Town Lifesaving Club (CTLSC) Open.

It was a fabulous afternoon of SERCS and Speeds which saw Beacon receive the trophy for Team Overall Championships.

Thanks to everyone at Crawley Town for putting on a great event. Thanks also to Ben for coaching and all of the parents for officiating and timekeeping.

We owe so much to John Stainer.

16 years ago, when we were searching for a path into competitive lifesaving, it was John who encouraged us to take the leap and give it a try at our branch competitions. That moment changed everything.

So much of Beacon’s success over the past 10–15 years traces back to his passion, belief, and the push he gave us to get started. His impact on our club is immeasurable.

A true legend of lifesaving - you will be deeply missed, John.

Horsham LSC sadly shares the news of the passing of John Stainer founder member of our club. After a courageous fight over the last few years with ill heath John passed peacefully yesterday morning he will be missed

Huge congrats to our pairs that took part in the Sussex Championships today at Bedes school.
Final placing in their respective age groups are as follows:
3rd - Lyra and Aimee
2nd - Lottie and Tessa, Ryan and Jamal
1st - Teddy and Sam
Many of our athletes were swimming up an age group. A fantastic result for the team! Thanks to coach Ben who also officiated for the competition.
