✨ POSTNATAL DOULA TIP | BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT ✨

One of the most underrated products for breastfeeding mums?
👉 Ni**le shields

Ni**le shields are thin silicone covers worn over the ni**le during feeding. They can be a valuable support tool when used correctly and with guidance.

🤱 They may be helpful for:
• Painful, cracked, or bleeding ni**les
• Latching difficulties
• Flat or inverted ni**les
• Weak or uncoordinated suck

🫶 How ni**le shields can support breastfeeding:
• Improve latch by providing a more defined shape
• Reduce ni**le pain while allowing continued feeding
• Protect healing ni**les while underlying challenges are addressed

🚨 Important note:
Ni**le shields aren’t one-size-fits-all. Proper sizing, positioning, and support make all the difference

✨ With the right support, ni**le shields can help mums continue breastfeeding when it feels difficult.

Please reach out if you need some guidance with the use of ni**les shields

Are you breastfeeding but want the flexibility of being able to leave your little one when you’re ready? 🤍

Here are some tips to help your little one take an occasional bottle:

• Wait until breastfeeding is well established – usually around 4–6 weeks, unless advised otherwise

• Be patient and consistent – it can take a few tries and this is completely normal. Consistency is key (for example, offering a bottle once a day)

• Use paced bottle-feeding techniques (this technique can be found on my page)

• Experiment with different teats – some babies are very particular

If you’re feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or things aren’t going as expected, please know you don’t have to navigate this alone 🤍
Every baby’s feeding journey is different, and sometimes a little personalised support can make all the difference. Reach out for professional guidance or send me a message — I’m always happy to help support you and your baby in a way that feels right for your family.

You’re doing an incredible job 🤍
