‘Heirlooms: Exploring Generational Trauma Caused by Suicide’ - a film screening and panel discussion hosted by CMS’ Mental Health and Wellbeing Network.
Born from the lived experience of Executive Producer Will Castle, who lost his father to su***de in 2010, ‘Heirlooms’ is a multi-award winning film created by Sticker Studios in partnership with Suicide&Co. It takes audiences on a deeply moving journey through grief, love, legacy, and the search for healing.
Conversations around su***de, grief, and generational impact are often avoided - especially in professional environments. These experiences are far more common, and more intertwined with our workplaces, than many realise.
Will was working in the corporate world when he lost his father and didn’t feel comfortable or safe to talk about what he had been through. This led to 10 years of silence compounding his pain and grief, which in turn inspired Will to create ‘Heirlooms’.
‘Heirlooms’ shines a light on the generational trauma caused by su***de and the call to action to break the cycle of su***de by seeking professional support and understanding the lasting impact of loss. It offers a message of hope to those navigating su***de bereavement and explores how trauma can be carried and transformed - across generations.
This event brings together lived‑experience voices, exploring heredity, legacy, and the difficult but essential conversations that shape wellbeing at work and beyond.
