The main question we get asked is "what actually is Dungeons and Dragons?"

Hopefully this eflyer will answer that 🙏
But of course feel free to check out our website for details on who we are as a CIC, as well as seeing info about our upcoming projects, give feedback or tell us what you want to see.

Most neurodiverse people WANT to work and actually have an abundance of ideal skills that would enhance most work places, career sectors and teams. But because many of these places rely on outdated and frankly toxic work cultures, the ND professional falls into many awful situations
1) bouncing from one job to another
2) burn out
3) functioning depression/anxiety
4) substance reliance
5) work place bullying
6) unfair dismissal
7) unemployment

Its why many go into self employment or become entrepreneurs but this also comes with a mountain of obstacles
1) tasks that rely of executive functioning
2) networking
3) navigating social media
4) downscalling value of work, not chasing payments
5) unhealed employment trauma
6) hidden or missed finantial/legal requirements
7) need or belief to abandon work/life balance

Its hard to navigate a world that sees us as
Fakers
Attention seekers
Lazy
Sensitive
Hard work
Asking too much

And yet I know how much this community does to try and keep afloat and how amazing they are with the right accommodations in place that are based on ND experience and voices.

We are not a token box to tick, a P&P to have but not follow, not a debate.
We are humans trying to do our best and deserve a chance to reach our potential as any other person.

It's a strange feeling to say goodbye to a client.
I am aware that so many feelings require space for us both: pride, sadness, gratitude, hope, fear.

What I'd like my clients to know when they leave is that I will always value our time together and that it has been such a privilege to be part of their support network and journey.

For a client to know themselves well enough that it is time take a step into the next chapter just goes to show your job has been done. 🌻🌼

When distraction is actively chosen it can be a phenomenal strategy to manage ruminating thoughts.

If I have upset some of you for making a "political" post, I welcome you unfollowing me.

For neurodiverse folks when the world is burning we feel it too. Our brains are wired to see patterns of injustice and feel so deeply impacted by it that it can trigger intense reactions. So much so that it can even cause our brains to shut down into depressive numb states to protect ourselves.

It can make the minutia of day to day life questionable. Make going to work pointless. Hobbies and plans unimportant and taking care of ourselves useless.

If you are neurodiverse and feel your anxiety spiralling, feel yourself shutting down, question everything, your moral injustice compass may have been triggered and I strongly urge you to seek out your support networks. Speak openly with safe people how you are feeling and prioritise self care where possible.

The technique of having a deep breath, holding and releasing will probably be the one you have been taught to help manage anxiety.

Well let me reintroduce you to another breathing technique we have done without being taught since childhood: 2 short, sharp inhales and one big exhale.

This technique is ingrained in our survival instincts to help activate our parasympathetic nervous system, slow down our heart rate and resets the stress response.

See if you notice it after a little one or even yourself has had a good big cry, you may be surprised how often it happens without you realising.

On another note, the music you are hearing is called bilateral music, another fantastic tool to help regulate by activating and reconnecting both sides of your brain. I used to use it on a as and when basis, like when my negative thoughts become unmanageable. Now its part of my morning routine and I have noticed huge positive impacts on my day to day.
