I've really enjoyed my time freelancing with Woodland Connections over the last few months. Working in the woods really is so special and has been a privilege. I'm so grateful to have been given the opportunity. However, as other projects develop, it's the right time to take a step back from regular woodland sessions.
One of my favourite sessions to support is the Women's Gathering and I will be back to do just one more in October! I can't wait to see how the woodland will have changed as we move into autumn.

If you're curious about the new community garden that's being 'grown' in Alfreton, I recommend paying a visit to the Butterley garden this Friday evening.

Grow Outside has developed the garden over many year with the help of hardworking volunteers. It's a beautiful garden and will give visitors a taste of what can be acheived.

Another gorgeous Sunday spent with Bonnie and four wonderful women for the Woodland Connections Women Gathering session.

Forest Bathing (I sadly miss out on that!) then a tasty fresh lunch prepared together, time spent under the trees, interesting conversations, connections formed.

The session was a great opportunity to try out an idea based around my circular weaving practice and mycelium networks. At times the six of us,sitting in a circle, were all fully absorbed in our weaving. Magic.

Ladies ... are you needing a break? Time to breathe and stop the rush?
Join us at Shaw Wood, Oakerthorpe next Sunday (16th) for Women Gathering, 10am-2pm

We will begin with a welcome drink and intention setting. Then take a guided mindful stroll through the woods before returning to the fire circle - no fire this session though due to the ongoing heat and dry weather. But we will still make a fresh, healthy lunch together to enjoy as we chat and relax under the trees.
There will then be a lovely nature craft to have a go at followed by time to reflect in nature journals. There are also hammocks if you prefer to just take some time to yourself.

We'd love to welcome you into the woods so come along - only £15 for 4 hours, includes lunch.

An exciting new project that I've been helping with is finally coming to fruition.

'Grow Alfreton' will build a garden and growing space in an undeveloped area of land nestled between Milton Avenue, Leys Junior School and Milton Avenue Allotments.

This is a community garden and will be led by the local community so please share this news locally so that as many people as possible can get involved!
