📍 Find us in The Shambles this Thursday (8am–2pm)!

Cameron, our friendly Funeral Director, will be in The Shambles this Thursday from 8am until 2pm, ready to chat about all things funeral plans.

We know it’s not always the easiest topic to bring up… but we promise it’s not as gloomy as it sounds. No awkward conversations, no pressure, just a friendly face and a chance to ask those “I’ve always wondered…” questions.
Whether you’re curious, planning ahead, or just passing by and fancy a chat, Cameron will be there to help make things feel a little less daunting (and maybe even raise a smile along the way).
Because talking about the future doesn’t have to be uncomfortable sometimes it just starts with a simple hello.
We’d love to see you there 👋

đź‘‹ Meet the Team: Cameron Agnew, Funeral Director

This week, we’re pleased to introduce Cameron — our Funeral Director at John Stuart Funeral Directors in Devizes, who has been part of the team for the past three and a half years.

🕊️ What does Cameron do?

Cameron’s role is all about bringing people together to deliver a fitting and meaningful service. On any given day, he may be arranging and conducting funerals, supporting families with pre-paid funeral plans, checking routes ahead of a service, or visiting cemeteries. He works closely with families, colleagues, celebrants, ministers, crematorium staff, and local businesses — all with the shared goal of ensuring every detail is just right.

No two days are the same, but attention to detail remains at the heart of everything Cameron does.

💭 Something you might not realise…

Every funeral is completely unique. While some services are traditional and reflective, others can be more celebratory — even joyful — depending on the wishes of the family. This variety makes each service truly special, and it’s a real honour for Cameron to help bring each one together.

Cameron plays a vital role in ensuring every family receives a service that is personal, meaningful, and carried out with the utmost care đź’™

đź‘‹ Meet the Team: Ben Brown, Funeral Service Specialist
This week, we’re introducing Ben — a Funeral Service Specialist who joined us in February this year, bringing a unique and diverse background with him.

Before joining the profession, Ben worked across a variety of industries including travel, banking, and data analysis — even spending several years as a holiday rep. His varied career path gives him a strong ability to connect with people and adapt to each family’s individual needs.

🕊️ What does Ben do?

Ben’s role is centred around ensuring every aspect of a funeral is arranged exactly in line with the wishes of the family. From coordinating venues and celebrants to arranging memorials, orders of service, and managing logistics, he works closely with families to truly understand their loved one and create a service that reflects them. For Ben, what matters most is taking as much pressure as possible off families, so they can focus on what’s most important.
Alongside this, Ben also supports the local community through initiatives such as Care with Confidence training, helping those who work with bereavement navigate difficult situations with compassion and understanding.

💭 Something you might not realise…

There is a huge amount of coordination happening behind the scenes. Ben works closely with a wide range of local businesses and partners to ensure every detail comes together seamlessly. Many people also don’t realise just how many different options are available when planning a funeral — it’s far from a one-size-fits-all process.

Ben chose this profession after seeing first-hand the difference compassionate care can make to a family during a difficult time — and his role is vital in helping make that experience just a little bit easier for every family he supports 💙

💬 A Question We Don't Ask Enough…

If you could be remembered in three words — what would they be?
It’s something we rarely stop to think about, but those three words often say more than anything else ever could.

At John Stuart Funeral Directors, we believe every life has a unique story worth telling — not just on the day of a service, but every day.

👇 We’d love to hear yours…
Drop your three words in the comments.
