I’m pleased to share that I’ve contributed an article to the August 2026 edition of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) Magazine.

“One Year, Two Months and Thirteen Days” reflects on my own recovery journey and how those experiences continue to shape my work as an Accredited Addictions Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor.

The article explores shame, trauma, trust and the impact addiction can have on the whole family, while also highlighting the hope that recovery can bring.

I’ve shared the opening page below, and I’ll be adding the full article to my website soon.

Thank you to the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) for the opportunity to contribute.

If you think this could help someone, I’d be grateful if you shared this post.

One of the quieter lessons of recovery is that we don’t have to manage other people’s stories. We don’t have to prove what happened, convince others, or wait for justice to feel at peace. Our task is to protect our own wellbeing and keep moving forward.
