Neck stretches
These 3 neck stretches are great for helping neck pain and stiffness. Long hours on the computer and bad posture can lead to neck pain. Try these easy neck stretches!
The first neck stretch is going to stretch the upper fibers of your trapezius muscle:
1. Sit upright in a chair and place your right hand on top of your head with your elbow out to the side
2. Slowly side bend your neck towards your right shoulder using your right hand to help the stretch
3. Hold for 30 seconds and repeat 3 times. Repeat on opposite side
The second stretch will stretch the Levator scapulae muscle:
1. Sit upright in a chair and turn your head to the right and place your right hand on top of your head
2. Slowly bend your neck towards your right armpit using your hand to help the stretch
3. Hold for 30 seconds and repeat 3 times. Repeat on opposite side
The last stretch is for your anterior scalenes:
1. Place your right fingers on your left collarbone and apply slight pressure here
2. Look up and side bend your neck and head towards the right until you feel a stretch in the front of your neck
3. Hold for 30 seconds and repeat 3 times. Repeat on opposite side
