At Pyjama Drama, we believe that helping children understand their emotions start with giving them the opportunity to recognise, explore and name them.
To be able to manage their emotions, a child must first be able to recognise and name them, and drama helps children to do just this.
They learn what emotions look like when I model them through their own facial expressions and body language. They experience emotions for themselves as they take on different roles.
And they discuss emotions, both in and out of role, learning to name how they and others might be feeling.
Through our stories, songs, characters and imaginative adventures, children can explore feelings in a safe and playful way from happy and excited to worried, cross, sad, proud and everything in between.
