At Sounds Good Scotland CIC, we are exploring how sound, dreams and carefully held spaces can support connection, reflection and inner freedom for people impacted by the justice system.
Yesterday, I visited the Bella Centre to ask the women whether they might benefit from a dream group that also includes sound journeys.
What unfolded spontaneously was delightful. The women began shaping the group themselves, asking thoughtful questions about the functions of dreaming, what sleep paralysis is and how we might explore the meanings and messages within our dreams.
They shared BIG dreams, listened to one another and brought their own curiosity, experience and wisdom into the space.
It felt like co-creation in its truest sense and a wonderful indication that we are on the right track.
As one woman spoke about an important dream, a moth landed on her arm. Butterflies danced around us as we spoke about transformation, and I caught a dandelion clock just as the conversation turned to time.
Sometimes the environment seems to join the conversation too
