At Sounds Good Scotland CIC, we are exploring how sound, dreams and carefully held spaces can support connection, reflection and inner freedom for people impacted by the justice system.

Yesterday, I visited the Bella Centre to ask the women whether they might benefit from a dream group that also includes sound journeys.

What unfolded spontaneously was delightful. The women began shaping the group themselves, asking thoughtful questions about the functions of dreaming, what sleep paralysis is and how we might explore the meanings and messages within our dreams.

They shared BIG dreams, listened to one another and brought their own curiosity, experience and wisdom into the space.

It felt like co-creation in its truest sense and a wonderful indication that we are on the right track.

As one woman spoke about an important dream, a moth landed on her arm. Butterflies danced around us as we spoke about transformation, and I caught a dandelion clock just as the conversation turned to time.

Sometimes the environment seems to join the conversation too

What a gift to receive! This is from someone who attended my first secret sound garden event. Combining voice and sound supports us to experience a state of slow-wave being, unwinding from the busy frequencies, back to our natural somatic rhythm and pace. I love using voice therapeutically and I look forward to facilitating more sessions in the community. If you would like your community or group to experience this, please contact me for details...

These beautiful garden flowers were given to me after someone’s first 1:1 innerdance session with me. 🌸

Their Oura ring recorded the session as a nap, even though they were awake and experiencing what they described as a powerful innerdance process.

But the feedback that stayed with me most was that, through my hands, they felt safety.

I have been training in trauma-informed touch for many years, and I remain deeply interested in how we communicate our own state through the quality of our contact.

For me, intentional touch is a touch that gives without taking. A touch that does not project, expect or provoke, but helps to hold the necessary conditions for pause, growth and change.

There is something profound about the body recognising when it is safe enough to rest, move, dream, feel or simply be.

Thank you for the flowers, and for the trust. 🤍

Saturday's innerdance continues to move through me by way of patterns changing, BIG dreams coming through and the sense of old edges smoothing out. I feel so much love and respect for everyone who came, and for the openness, trust and curiosity that shaped the morning.

Facilitating innerdance is a practice I hold with deep care, experience and respect for each person’s own process.

There was something very special and unique in what we created together.

Deep gratitude to each person who was part of it, and to Lynne Sutherland Mindbody Coach for sharing this work with me.

Tenderness is my teacher, always.

Monday 6 July, I'm sharing a new soundscape online before any in-person journeys. This one is called Land of the Lost and it is for all of us who have ever felt lost, uncertain, exiled. I wanted to create a sonic map to be lost in together and to find ourselves again :). You can book directly via my website. I hope to see you there! 🥰

Last night was the first Dundee sound journey for a while, too long in fact and we had the delight of being at the Harmony ZONE, it's such a beautiful wee space! Working with the frequency of flow, we saw horses, butterflies, bees, bears, we experienced release and sacred rage, rebirth and lightness. Thank you to everyone who co-created with me and I look forward to organising the next one!
