CBT delivered without appropriate counselling training and supervision can be less effective but seems to be becoming more common. We need accreditation processes as ‘counsellor’ and ‘therapist’ are not currently legally protected titles in the UK.

Growing demand and ballooning waiting lists are encouraging the NHS to use unaccredited therapists to treat those in mental distress. This undermines patient safety and trust

So pleased to hear about exciting studies on PMDD at the EABCT conference. The session overbooked, and people had to be turned away. The fact that I could count the men in the auditorium on one hand emphasised how important this research, knowledge and awareness is.
