20 years!

20 years ago we said ā€œI doā€ and do you know what! Iā€™d say ā€œI doā€ again a million times over! Itā€™s not always been easy and weā€™ve faced some difficult times but weā€™ve always faced those times together, a united force. Weā€™ve brought 3 wonderful children into the world who we are very proud of and the one thing I always hoped was that we would create a happy and safe home environment for them, that is the legacy we want to leave. If I had the power to give them anything the thing I would give them would be a relationship like ours full of love, laughter, loyalty and friendship. Nothing is impossible when we are together. I hope life gives us many more years together and I hope those years are kind to us. ā¤ļø 26/08/2006

Sadness
One thing you should never do
is put a lid on sadness.
You should always let it flow.

It craves existence,
it validates relationships,
it marks final chapters.

Itā€™s a natural emotion
and it needs to be carried.
Often it is symptomatic of deep love.

If we run away from sadness,
it will still catch up with us anyway.

Therefore, we should embrace it,
own it, let it have its space,
give it due time.

Let it glisten with memories,
let it breathe with regrets,
let it become a picture
of a previous chapter -
of better times,
of lost moments.

It can remind us of gifts bestowed.

So let it linger.
It doesnā€™t want to govern;
it only wants to visit.

Itā€™s true; when you say you canā€™t you absolutely can!

I was a registered midwife for 20 years and one of the most exciting things I heard was ā€œI canā€™tā€ this is a great sign that you are really close!

Shivering, feeling sick, feeling the need to push, feeling like you canā€™t, overwhelming panicā€¦ sounds glamorous doesnā€™t it?! Well we call this transition and itā€™s your bodyā€™s way of taking you into the final stage of labour! Youā€™re so close!

So when you feel you canā€™t itā€™s time to steady your breath, remind yourself itā€™s normal to feel like this, go inwards and let your body tell you what to do! You are on the cusp of something amazing!
