Leaking power like a bucket full of holes?
That's the fast track to injury and pain
Force travels through the kinetic chain: foot → ankle → knee → hip → trunk → shoulder → arm. When one link cannot move, rotate or stabilise, another absorbs more load. The sore spot is real, but may not be the starting point.
A stuck hip can overwork the lower back. A collapsed arch can make the shin work harder: “The shin was shouting. The foot was whispering.” If the trunk cannot rotate, the shoulder may get over-promoted.
For a fighter throwing thousands of punches, grip, hip rotation and trunk transfer matter. For a runner, a stiff ankle may make the knee do it's job to get more rotation.
Chu, Jayabalan, Kibler and Press, “The kinetic chain revisited: new concepts on throwing mechanics and injury” (PM&R, 2016), supports whole-chain thinking mainly in throwing and overhead athletes, not every pain case has the same cause.
Sports and deep tissue massage can help with tension, stiffness and short-term relief. The real magic happens showing you how your body is coping with load. Not a magic erase button: it works best within a wider plan.
We start with a whole-body Recovery Assessment plus Posture & Movement Rehab, looking for patterns, not chasing the sore area.
